Claire dying is not the worst thing ever. Her dying as part of a backstory and not within the story of a game is.
RE4 uses tank controls just like RE3. Only the camera is different. But if you want to skip it, you can.
Resident Evil 8 is coming out next year, sometime in 2021. That's the official word from Capcom and that's what was announced during Sony's Future of Gaming event where we got our first look at the game.
Resident Evil is Capcom's best-selling video game franchise, with over 98 million units sold worldwide as of March 2020. The Resident Evil live-action film series is also the highest-grossing film series based on video games.

That's partly because Resident Evil 7 isn't just good because it's scary—it's good because it's a tense, well-written and well-designed game, with an engrossing sense of mystery and some great dark humor. It gives you a fascinating, creepy house to explore and all manner of hidden secrets to discover.
As it turns out, Leon Kennedy is not featured in Resident Evil 7, without a single trace of him to be found in any file you gather during a play-through. However, another past Resident Evil character does make an appearance during Biohazard, so hard-core fans can still have that throwback.
Resident Evil 7 is played from a first-person perspective. This camera angle impacts gameplay significantly. First, Resident Evil 7 is a more immersive experience since players are no longer controlling the protagonist, they are the protagonist.
After Jill rings the bell in the Clock Tower she has to fight the Nemesis because he destroys the helicopter that was supposed to get her out of the Raccoon City. Becuase it's all in Jill head, she's hallucinating due to virus and none of the events since the player takes the control of the Carlos actually happen.
Despite its survival horror roots, the game is well-paced, thanks to balanced combination of typical Resident Evil elements with the introduction of faster-paced action segments; usually explored in the game's real-time cut scenes, where you'll find yourself hammering a variety of buttons to escape from life-
RE4 has a few scary moments, but is mostly very tense as opposed to terrifying, if that makes sense. Less dreading an attack and more realizing you've suddenly been surrounded because you didn't cover your rear well enough. It's not scary at all. For me it's just an (amazing) action game with zombies.

You could likely make Resident Evil 2 remake your first RE game as it does a good job filling you in on what you need to know about the situation in Raccoon City. However, Resident Evil remake is a great game, and it'll only help you to have played the first game going into RE2 remake.
How Long Is Resident Evil 3 Remake? If you're playing on the standard difficulty setting, fully exploring every area, and backtracking for items you might have missed, Resident Evil 3 will take around six hours to beat.
Resident Evil Code Veronica May Not Get a Remake
Ever since Capcom started making Resident Evil remakes, the company has been consistent in releasing these reimaginings in chronological order.Resident Evil 5 was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in March 2009 and for Microsoft Windows in September that year. The plot involves an investigation of a terrorist threat by Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance agents Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar in Kijuju, a fictional region of Africa.
Resident Evil (2002 video game) Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom. Released for the GameCube video game console in 2002, it is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first installment in the Resident Evil video game series.
Resident Evil 2 Is Extremely Scary and Maybe Too Faithful to the Original. The classic horror game gets a tremendous update that makes it even more frightening, but doesn't bring any more heart. But even as it found new ways for video games to be scary, it also found itself with a surfeit of camp.
Long answer: No, you don't have to, but RE1 remake is very good. You should play the remake of the first RE because it's amazing, but RE2 is probably going to be a entirely different game because of the new gameplay.
The game's plot follows Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, members of an elite task force known as S.T.A.R.S., as they investigate the outskirts of Raccoon City following the disappearance of their team members. They soon become trapped in a mansion infested with zombies and other monsters.
Raccoon City was a small, industrialized city located in Arklay County, an isolated mountain county in the Midwestern United States. It was destroyed during the t-Virus outbreak in 1998. At present, the area is cordoned off to the rest of the world by a U.S. government facility.
If you're wanting to get the core Resident Evil experience you should play in this order:
- Resident Evil Remake (PC)
- Resident Evil 2 (GCN Version on Dolphin with HD Pack)
- Resident Evil 3 (PC)
- Resident Evil 0 (PC)
- Resident Evil: Code Veronica X (PS3/360)
- Resident Evil 4 (PC + HD Project Mod)
- Resident Evil Revelations (PC)
To put it simply, Resident Evil 3 takes place before Resident Evil 2 and then they begin to occur at the same time. By the end of Resident Evil 3, the events of Resident Evil 2 have concluded.
Biohazard is just a much better name for the series. To my understanding, Capcom couldn't get a trademark for a series called Biohazard, because of the band that already had that name, so they came up with Resident Evil as a play off of Sweet Home which RE was going to be a remake/ spiritual successor of.
Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, is a Japanese horror media franchise created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara, and owned by the video game company Capcom.

Age: 35 (as of 2009 / Resident Evil 5). Captain of BSAA North American branch Alpha Team. While on a mission in the Republic of Edonia in 2012, Chris falls into a trap set by bioterrorist organization Neo Umbrella, which mutates his entire team save for Piers into B.O.W.s (Bio-Organic Weapons).
Regarding the Infection Report, it's heavily implied that Ethan is also infected by the bacterium, best known as Mold. After getting his left hand severed, Zoe simply staples Ethan's hand and he uses it as it has never been severed of its nerves and tendons, demonstrating remarkable regenerative abilities.
Umbrella is no longer the evil pharmaceutical company that created the T-Virus and caused numerous zombie outbreaks. He makes this clear to the person he is communicating with throughout the mission, but by the end of the DLC, it seems Chris has a change of heart as his Umbrella helper does help him survive the ordeal.
After Eveline had woken up, Lucas wound up unconscious, and eventually was dragged by Jack to "meet Eveline" where she gave him her "gift", with him telling his father to not do it in sheer terror.
The game technically takes place after the events of Resident Evil 6 and has ties to the overall series, but RE7 is largely standalone.
Since Resident Evil 7 brought Chris back into the fold, perhaps Resident Evil 8 will see a comeback for Leon Kennedy or Jill Valentine, who recently starred in the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, respectively.

After finding the items needed to make the Serum, and making it, Ethan is forced to use one of the Serums on Jack Baker. Unfortunately, it doesn't save him, instead it kills him (due to how much the mold had overtaken his body), and Ethan is left with only one vial of Serum to work with.
