Who is winning between LG and Samsung? LG manufactures OLED displays, which are considered to be the best in terms of color and contrast. Samsung still uses QLED technology, which can't quite match OLED for picture quality. Additionally, QLED is also brighter whereas OLED has better uniformity and viewing angles.
When it comes to the list of most reliable TV brands, four of them lead the rest. They are Samsung, Panasonic, LG and Sony. All these TV brands have individual benefits of their own and are the most well known in the market place today.
Sony currently favours OLED, while Samsung champions QLED. Secondly, Sony TVs tend to use the Android TV operating system whereas Samsung favours its own platform, Tizen. Lastly, the rivals brands support different forms of HDR – Sony partners with Dolby Vision, while Samsung is championing its own HDR10+ format.

We've tended to find Samsung's QLED TVs a little punchier and more dynamic, but Sony's OLEDs are more authentic and natural. Both are thrilling, and both have their distinctive strengths. There's not that much between them. In the future, we'd like to see the advantages of each technology combined.
Today Sony produces OLED TVs - using panels produced by LG Display.
What's the lifespan of an OLED TV? Any OLED TV should last you years of use. Back in 2016 The Korea Times reported that LG OLED TVs had a lifespan of over 100,000 hours (11 years of constant use).
Best OLED TV: LG CX OLEDThe best OLED TV that we've tested is the LG CX. One of two entry-level OLEDs from LG's 2020 lineup, the CX OLED delivers amazing picture quality and comes packed with extra gaming features, making it an excellent all-around TV that should look sleek in any living room.
Based on our tests, OLED TVs produce richer, deeper, and more realistic colors than 4K LED TVs. When it comes to screen brightness, LED TVs have a considerable advantage.
Absolutely. If you can afford it of course. There's no type of TV with the same contrast, black levels and viewing angles. For brightness it is bested, but you'll still need to pay as much to get that level of HDR brightness.
QLED comes out on top on paper, delivering a higher brightness, longer lifespan, larger screen sizes, and lower price tags. OLED, on the other hand, has a better viewing angle, deeper black levels, uses less power, and might be better for your health.
There are two reasons for the higher OLED prices. The OLED was priced so high back in 2014 because at the time it was extremely difficult to manufacture the ultra-thin set. The panels were so thin (just 0.17 inches thick) that LG could only make so many of them so it had to keep prices high and therefore demand low.
You can save 25% on a 55-inch CX Series (2020), which is one of LG's high-end OLED TVs and, frankly, it's the best OLED TV for most people. It combines excellent picture quality with a premium design, all at a realistic price — and right now, that price is better than ever.
