HAL-Holland America Line's ms Veendam and ms Maasdam sold to Seajets, Greece. The Greek fast ferry company Seajets is the new shipowner of the recently sold HAL-Holland America Line ships ms Maasdam and ms Veendam.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, Fred Olsen suspended the entire cruise fleet's passenger shipping operations (all vessels - ocean and riverboats) cancelling all voyages with pre-scheduled departures between March 14, 2020, and June 30, 2021.
The ships, to be named Bolette and Borealis, have been purchased from Holland America Line and previously sailed under the names Amsterdam and Rotterdam carrying up to 1,380 and 1,404 guests. The acquisition of Bolette and Borealis will modernise and increase capacity across Fred.
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has unveiled the upcoming sailings for its new ship Bolette, with bookings on the ship open today (7 September). The new vessel will join the Fred Olsen fleet as its flagship vessel, carrying 1,338 passengers and sailing a number of brand new itineraries.

Holland America Line to Build Third Pinnacle Class Ship for Delivery in 2021. The two new ships are designated for the company's Holland America Line and Princess Cruises brands. Holland America Line's new ship will be built at Fincantieri's shipyard in Marghera, Italy, with an expected delivery in 2021.
When it debuts in February 2016, ms Koningsdam will be a new type of ship for Holland America Line. At 99,500 gross tons and carrying 2,650 guests and 1,025 crew members, the vessel is the largest ever built for the company.
