Some are shorter than planned because the production teams burned through their budget and are unable to finish the series, but this is rare. The answer is quite simple. To reduce loss and wastage of money. Creating anime is a large undertaking and requires a big animation studio.
If you're bored of the normal TV shows and serials and you're looking for something fun to watch, yeah, anime is worth it. I've been watching anime for a very long time. And considering how easily I get bored with things, anime has held up quite well.
A cour and an "Anime season" are basically the same thing. It's three period of the months, January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December, and it's how Japanese broadcasting schedules are determined. The confusion is where there's also a "Season" of a show, which can be multiple cours long.
The short answer is to leave at an ambiguous ending. If the series is not bringing the money back to the studios. They can just leave it there. As almost anime now follows season pattern, it's a good strategy to leave things in cliffhangers.
4 Blood Lad Is Anime's TwilightThat's when Staz makes it his mission to help Fuyumi get resurrected. In only 10 episodes and an OVA, Blood Lad doesn't get the chance to replicate its manga predecessor's satisfying ending, but for what it is, this is charming.

The manga is fantastic. The anime takes the manga and condenses it to only the necessary plot points, so you're missing out on a lot. Also, it cut out a lot of Kaneki's development and shunted best girl to basically being a love interest who can sort of fight.
Of course it is completely fine if you are watching ongoing anime series but since I watch already complete series so I only watch one series at a time but for dramas I always watch multiple at a time because I watch ongoing one and keep track of all of them easily so its not a problem you can also watch completed
If you really wanna know is one piece worth watching, just watch the first 100 episodes, and if you are still struggling with the anime, then I would suggest you drop anime. More than fight scenes, one-piece focuses on plot and offers humour. The animation and art style might bother you, but it's still good.
