Flying – Flying around French Polynesia is the most convenient way to get around. It's also prohibitively expensive. The 1-hour flight from Tahiti to Bora Bora costs 45,000 XPF ($450 USD). The 3.5-hour flight from Tahiti to the Marquesas costs 69,000 XPF ($680 USD).

everyone tells me all fiji is is resorts, while apart from an expensive resort by the airport samoa is all private little family run places, a much better travel experience. Fiji has more variety but in one week only you would not be able to experience that.
Although the South Pacific is hot and humid most of the year with warm seas and clear skies, the best time to visit is generally between April and November when the weather is driest.

1. Re: Tahiti or Cook Islands? Been to both. French Polynesia IS more beautiful - though really only marginally so - but is also much more expensive so the Cooks are actually our preferred destination (cheaper, friendlier locals, nearly as beautiful).
