In March, Polaroid will introduce the first digital camera with a built-in printer. Called the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera, it will sell for $199 at major retailers.
At Photokina in 1986, Japanese company Nikon revealed a prototype for the first DSLR camera, the Nikon SVC. In 1988, Nikon released the first commercial DSLR camera, the QV-1000C. In 1986, the Kodak Microelectronics Technology Division developed a 1.3 MP CCD image sensor, the first with more than 1 million pixels.

120 film is still a very popular medium format film, especially with the recent popularity of the Holga. The 120 film format was originally introduced by Eastman Kodak for its Brownie No. 2 in 1901.
On the Apollo 11 mission, taken onto the lunar surface, was a silver Hasselblad Data Camera (HDC). Fitted with a Zeiss Biogon 60mm Æ’/5,6 lens and the earlier mentioned 70mm film magazine, containing the specially formulated thin-base Kodak film, which allowed for 200 images per magazine.

What was the impact of the camera? Cameras became a great tool for scientific research, documented newly discovered species, a tool of document evidence of scientific field trips, was able to capture the people of remote tribes. Cameras later then led to the innovation of brain scanning and assessing human anatomy.
