What Is a Good SAT Score? A perfect SAT score is 1600. The minimum score is 400. And the average for the class of 2018 was 1068.
Getting into Harvard may seem like a near-impossible dream, and truthfully, it is very difficult. There are quite a few applicants competing for a limited number of spots, and the applicant pool is remarkably strong. However, it can be done: every year, over 2,000 students receive that coveted acceptance letter.

Divide your class rank by the number of students in your grade, multiply by 100, then subtract that number from 100. For example, if there are 600 students in your grade and you are ranked 120th, then you are in the 80th percentile because (120/600)*100=20, and 100-20=80. You are also in the top 20% of your class.
Within each category, the sum of weighted, normalized values across 15 indicators of academic quality determine each school's overall score, and by extension its overall rank. In effect, a school's overall score reflects its distance from the top-performing school in its ranking.

The reasons students take so many unnecessary courses vary. It's natural for college students to discover their interests and change majors. When they start something new, there are new required classes and some of the classes they've already taken aren't needed for graduation.
Hard to Get In: Private colleges are more selective of the students it admits. If your grades were not so great in high school, then you may get into a private college. Cost: Private colleges cost far more than public colleges, sometimes as much as 10 times more.
Hands down, public universities are the better buy by definition alone. Because their funding is subsidized by the state, public schools can pass on those savings to students. Private institutions rely almost entirely on tuition and the generosity of donors, which is why students wind up paying more.

USA In-State versus out-State students. By the term "out state student" it means that the student is from some other state and do not reside in the same state as that of the public college. On the other hand, "in-state students" are those who are residents of the same state as that of the public college.
Diversity. Because of its sheer size alone, attending a state school will almost certainly offer a more diverse student body than going to a private college. Specifically, you will be able to interact and have classes with people from all different walks of life.
In the United States, the two terms are used interchangeably, and both mean a school at the postsecondary level. Otherwise, the term university usually means a large institution that offers graduate and doctorate programs while college means undergraduate degrees or associate degrees.
