Can a King Comforter Fit On a Queen Bed? Yes, you can use a king-size blanket on a queen bed, but there are several factors to consider, depending on what you want to achieve.

Buy a duvet cover that is the exact size of your comforter, or up to 2 inches shorter in both length and width to ensure a snug fit.
We've recently bought one of these kingsize duvets (which is just heavenly), which is a standard UK king size of 230 x 220cm. But basically it goes with our UK king size bed which has a width of 150cm (length: 200cm).

Conventional wisdom says the insert should be at about two inches larger than the duvet cover to make sure the cover is "full". Typically, your duvet cover should be filled with a comforter that allows plus or minus two inches in dimension.

The purpose of the double duvet even on a single bed is threefold. Thirdly, if you have a friend sleeping over, it makes fitting two people in a single bed much, much more palatable. So basically when a Single duvet is too small and a Double duvet is too big, the Small Double duvet is the answer.

There are a variety of duvet tog sizes available, all providing a different level of warmth. 1 – 4.5 tog is excellent for warmer days, particularly in the Summer. 7– 10.5 tog is best for those middle seasons, such as autumn and spring. 12 †15 tog is suitable for colder winter nights.
No. IKEA beds and bedding do not fit standard European sizes. I just realised the duvet on the spare bed is from IKEA and I have taken it out of the 'normal-sized' cover and measured it and it's 190x135.
Yes, we have a Superking bed with Kingsize duvets - they "fit" the bed, but the run the right to the edge of the mattress (a kingsize duvet is the exact size of a super king bed, so there is no overhang).

All our duvets can be washed at 60ºC, the temperature at which mites die. Our duvets made from natural materials such as feather and down are also suitable for machine washing, but it is recommended to do so less often and to add several tennis balls to prevent the feathers from becoming compacted.
The "Traditional" Method Of Putting On King Duvet CoversLay your comforter out flat on your bed.Turn your duvet cover inside out. With your hands holding the top two corners of the cover, grab the top two corners of the comforter.
Upsize to a king quilt doona! To achieve a nicer look, you need to upsize to a king-sized quilt doona to sufficiently cover a larger mattress. Note, the king quilt is wider than a queen quilt, however the length will remain the same.
How to do it:
- Put the fitted sheet on the bed. No secret here.
- Drape one of the flat sheets over the bed.
- Drape the duvet over the bed.
- Drape the top layer over the bed.
- Fold the top layer around the duvet.
- Now, fold the bottom sheet over the duvet.
- Tuck… or don't!
