Although the summit of Everest is at a higher altitude, K2 is a more difficult and dangerous climb, due in part to its more inclement weather and comparatively greater height from base to peak.
Nanga Parbat, viewed here from the Fairy Meadows, is nicknamed “Killer Mountain” for its high number of climber fatalities. An immense, dramatic peak rising far above its surrounding terrain, Nanga Parbat is known to be a difficult and challenging climb.
K2 are more difficult to climb because they have steeper slopes and the routes one might take to the top are more difficult to traverse. They're also further north than Everest and therefore have notoriously unpredictable and bad weather. The most significant danger on K2 comes from rock fall and avalanches.

At its nearest point ( Sia La ) the Indian Army is nearly at a distance of 150 km away from K2 . So it is impossible to have a sight of K2 from Indian held position of Siachen. Siachen is situated in the west of baltistan.
Located in the Diamer District of the Pakistani-administered Gilgit-Baltistan region of Kashmir, Nanga Parbat is the western anchor of the Himalayas. The mountain is locally known by its Tibetan name Diamer or Deo Mir, meaning "huge mountain". Nanga Parbat is one of the 14 eight-thousanders.
K2 is in Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. But it has been illegally occupied by Pakistan. So officially its part of India. And Pakistan occupied Kashmir is officially not even a province of Pakistan.
Nanga Parbat forms the western anchor of the Himalayan Range and is the westernmost eight-thousander. It lies just south of the Indus River in the Diamer District of Gilgit–Baltistan in the Pakistan-administered region of Kashmir, which in places flows more than seven kilometres below the high point of the massif.
Who climbed Nanga Parbat first?
Normally it's a 3/4 days trip from Gilgit to the base camp and back, 2 hrs drive from Gilgit city to Raikot bridge, where-from a jeep… This will life long trek if you choose to take the 3 day trail to Nanga Parbat base camp. But calculations done by Mr Arnette and other climbers show Nanga Parbat has had 339 successful ascents to the summit and 69 deaths.
K2, at 8,611 metres (28,251 ft) above sea level, is the second highest mountain in the world, after Mount Everest at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft).
Mount Everest is located on the border between Tibet and Nepal in the Himalayas in Asia. Everest is situated in the Mahalangur Range on the Tibetan Plateau known as Qing Zang Gaoyuan. The summit is directly between Tibet and Nepal.

K2 is known as the Savage Mountain after George Bell, a climber on the 1953 American Expedition, told reporters "It's a savage mountain that tries to kill you." Of the five highest mountains in the world, K2 is the deadliest where approximately one person dies on the mountain for every four who reach the summit.
It is located on the China–Pakistan border between Baltistan in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, and Dafdar Township in Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China. K2 is the highest point of the Karakoram range and the highest point in both Pakistan and Xinjiang.
