These training courses are recognized by MSHA.
- New Miner Training. MSHA Part 46 regulations require that New Miners complete a minimum of 24 hours of training within their first 90 days of employment, 4 hours of which must be completed prior to beginning work at the mine.

An inspection ends with a close-out conference in which the inspector explains the results to the mine operator. If desired, the operator may request a safety and health conference at the district level within 10 days, briefly explaining in writing why each citation or order should be conferenced.
A. Accident and Rescue/Recovery Procedures [103(k) Orders] The inspector will generally use Section 103(k) to protect the safety of any person in the mine when a mine condition exists as a result of an accident that threatens the safety of miners.
Each citation, or a copy thereof, shall remain posted until the violation has been abated, or for 3 working days, whichever is later.
