How long will 30 GB of hotspot last? With 30 GB of data you could binge watch about 10 hours of HD quality Netflix films. It all depends on what quality you want to watch it on as well. If you choose to watch your movies in SD then you could watch closer to 30 hours of films.
More GIGs 4G LTE data is a recurring subscription add-on to your monthly plan that allows you to increase the amount of high-speed data you have access to each month. You don't want to keep on mobile data all the time. Of course its safe to keep the mobile data on, but you should realise that some apps will be continuously using your data in the background, downloading updates or configuration changes, or just pinging a server to keep a network connection open.

You're using your mobile data whenever you're not connected to WiFi and doing things like browsing the web, checking social media, sending iMessages, and streaming videos. When it comes to how we use our phones, it's especially important to understand data usage.
This feature automatically switches your phone to a cellular data connection when your Wi-Fi connection is poor. Your apps might also be updating over cellular data, which can burn through your allotment pretty quickly. Turn off automatic app updates under the iTunes and App Store settings.

Restrict background data usage by app (Android 7.0 & lower)

- To find the app, scroll down.
- To see more details and options, tap the app's name. "Total" is this app's data usage for the cycle.
- Change background mobile data usage.
How much mobile data does the average person use? The average person used 2.9GB of mobile data per month in 2019, which is an increase of 25% on the previous year. That data is from OFCOM's Communication Market Report published in July 2019.
But if you do it away from a WiFi connection, it'll cost you. Since mobile service carriers are companies that want to make money, they may charge you extra if you go over your monthly data limit, or throttle your service so badly you might as well not have coverage.
If 15GB is too much for you, here's what you could do with a smaller data allowance: 1GB: Send 5,000 emails. 2GB: Watch 200 videos on YouTube. 8GB: Video call on Skype or FaceTime for 32 hours.
It's probably just a data warning that you can set yourself on the phone. Go to Settings>Data Usage and look for an option to set a data warning. You can set it as high as you want, and depending on the phone, you may be able to turn it completely off.
The apps that use the most data typically are the apps that you use the most. For a lot of people, that's Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, Snapchat, Spotify, Twitter and YouTube. If you use any of these apps daily, change these settings to reduce how much data they use.
An unlimited data plan makes a lot of sense if you're a heavy data user. Not least because you'll be free of the worry of racking up charges for exceeding your monthly limit. As to whether an unlimited data SIM means you really can use as much data as you like, the answer is, to all intents and purposes, yes.

How To Use Mobile Hotspot Without Using Data
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap on the Wireless & Networks option.
- Search for the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot option.
- Tap on the button next to that option to turn it on.
High definition (HD) videos, on the other hand, use 3 GB per hour. And 4K Ultra HD streams use up to 7 GB per hour of video. This means you'll use around 2 GB to stream a two-hour SD movie, 6 GB to stream the HD version or 14 GB for the 4K stream.
50GB is roughly enough data for any one of the following: 2500 Hours browsing. 10,000 Music Tracks. 600 Hours streaming music.
1GB (or 1024MB) of data lets you send or receive about 1,000 emails and browse the Internet for about 20 hours every month. (This limit relates only to your 1GB mobile data allocation; if you are an 'inclusive mobile broadband customer' you also get 2000 BT Wi-fi wi-fi minutes every month.)
In the table above, if you watched 60 hours of Netflix a month on medium quality, Netflix will consume 42GB of usage. This means you will likely need at least 50GB of usage to cover your overall monthly usage, 100GB would be ideal.
How much data YouTube will use depends on the quality of your video playback. Watching a YouTube video at the standard 480p uses around 260MB per hour, while Full HD viewing can chew through 1.65GB. 4K video playback on YouTube will use as much as 2.7GB of data every hour.
Adding these basic business functions to your everyday smartphone habits, the minimum amount of data you should have to work remotely is at least 8-10GB per month… but ideally, you'll want an unlimited data plan.
Check Data Syncing IntervalsIf your calendar, contacts, and email sync every 15 minutes, it can really drain your data. Have a look under “Settings” > “Accounts” and set your email, calendar, and contact apps to sync data every few hours or set them to only sync when connected to Wi-Fi.
Replacing your home internet with mobile hotspot could save you from a daunting internet bill. Low data limits mean mobile hotspot isn't the best option for most homes. Generally slower speeds also make mobile hotspot a poor option for homes with more than two people.
