French Franc coins were replaced by Euro coins in 2002 when the Euro became France's national currency. The exchange deadline for French pre-euro coins expired in 2005. Since then, franc and centimes coins from France no longer have a monetary value.
The Half Franc coin is a circulating denomination of the Swiss Franc. Given that Switzerland has four official languages, it has three different names: Franken in German, franc in French and Romansh, and franco in Italian. This version was heavier than current coins (2.5 grams) and made of 0.900 silver.
Silver coins. The ½, 1, 2 and 5 francs coins were silver, from 1968 Cupronickel. The pre-1969 coins were taken out of circulation in 1971.
