For long-term investors, we believe that Ocado stock price is an ideal buy. For one, most analysts expect that more people, especially millennials will continue to shop online.
M&S will buy a 50% share of Ocado's retail business for £750m. The joint venture will be called Ocado and will deliver M&S grocery products from September 2020 at the latest, when Ocado's deal with Waitrose expires. Under the deal Ocado will also continue to supply its own-label products and big name branded goods.
On 27 February 2019, Ocado and Marks and Spencer announced a Joint Venture, whereby M&S acquired a 50% share in Ocado's UK retail business. On the 5th of August 2019, announced the completion of the sale of its retail business which became “Ocado Retail Limited”.

For the first time in four months Ocado has now begun slowly welcoming new customers back to its platform. “We needed to pause accepting new customers so that we could prioritise existing customers, including those on the Government's shield list of Clinically Extremely Vulnerable people.
For a convenience charge of $5.99 and a small price increase per item, customers will be able to place a grocery order on the partnering Instacart app and schedule delivery anywhere from one hour to one week out. (First-time users will have the $5.99 fee waived.)
Ocado has sparked outrage from customers on social media after offering to refund anyone who paid for its “Smart Pass” service in March. Smart Pass holders pay £10.99 a month and are guaranteed unlimited deliveries free of charge, while also receiving monthly offers.
How much does Ocado delivery cost? If your order is less than £75, there's a minimum charge of £2.99 and a maximum of £6.99. For standard orders of £75 or more, you may be offered free delivery. You can also opt in for Ocado Smart Pass to potentially save on delivery fees.

M&S has bought a 50% share of Ocado's retail business, which gives the grocer an internet-based delivery service for the first time. But the "surge in demand" meant Ocado was unable to fulfil what it called a "very small number" of orders.

In September, Ocado will switch to delivering Marks & Spencer products while Waitrose will ship its food only in Waitrose.com vans. Stimson said Waitrose is adding 24 extra shops to its ordering service, taking the total to 184 out of 338 stores where orders can also be collected.
Marks & Spencer has extended its home delivery service.Customers can order from a range of about 130 M&S food and household items through Deliveroo.
You only have to mention shopping at Waitrose to a great deal of people, and the reaction is – 'gosh, they are expensive'. Rising costs and devaluation of the pound has caused Waitrose to rethink their philosophy, but the supermarket name is still linked with quality.
Ocado has today announced a licensing partnership with supermarket chain Morrisons. This licensing agreement allows Morrisons to access Ocado's technology, software and expertise to support the creation of its own online grocery shopping service.

What's more, since it was created in 2000, Ocado has only achieved pre-tax profit twice. Ocado argues that the nature of its business differs from traditional retail; in fact, the company rather speaks of itself as a "technology company". The investment is all in innovation.
