Year 7 is an educational year group in schools in many countries including England, Wales, Australia and New Zealand. It is the seventh full year (or eighth in Australia) of compulsory education and is roughly equivalent to grade 6 in the United States and Canada (or to grade 7 for the Australian Year 7).
American schools are a bit easier, but not very easy as to the point you can graduate without doing any work. American schools are more stressful if you take a whole lot of AP classes and are trying to hustle to be in the top.
Most eighth grade students are between 12 years old and 13 years old, but can be 14 years old depending on their past history in school.

What is 12th class called in USA? Twelfth grade, senior year, or grade 12 is the final year of secondary school in most of North America. In other regions it is also equivalently referred to as class 12 or Year 13. In most countries, students then often graduate at ages between 17 and 18.

Here in the US, Freshmen are usually 14,/15 Sophomores are 15/16, Juniors are 16/17, and Seniors are 17/18. This is because most states have a mandatory cut-off to start Kindergarten at the age of 5.
From elementary school, children move to Middle School – also known as Junior High in some States – between the ages of 11 and 13 (Grades 6-8) and then finish their education in High School.

However, there are some schools that consider a C the lowest passing grade, so the general standard is that anything below a 60% or 70% is failing, depending on the grading scale. In college and universities, a D is considered to be an unsatisfactory passing grade.
A passing percentage is 70% or higher. Each college has policies with respect to grades for transferred coursework. You should check with the college you plan to attend to determine its specific grade-posting policies. * All grades above a 69.5% are considered passing.
In fact, a “D” is considered passing in both high school and college, as it's above 60%. While a passing grade may be as low as 60%, you will want to aim higher for many reasons. As a college student, you don't want to aim to barely pass a class.

The law also says that no child can be refused admission to a school because his or her parents cannot afford to pay school fees. A child cannot be sent home from school or refused results of tests or exams if fees have not been paid.
