When is The Sims 5 released? There's no release date for The Sims 5 just yet, but a 2021 release is most likely. As 2020 is the simulator series' 20th anniversary there will likely be an announcement this year – though there's a slight chance of a late 2020 release too.

Re: SIms 3 on Windows 10@ashleyrain1128 Once Windows 10 is released it will be fully supported. You might need to use Compatibility Mode, but other than that it should work.
Edit: If you can install without using Origin, then you need to go to <installation path> The Sims 3GameBin. In there there's ts3w.exe (which you use to launch the game) and Sims3LauncherW.exe (which you use to launch the launcher). You need the launcher for installing store content if you don't decrapify.
I definitely recommend Sims 3. Since it's on sale, it doesn't hurt to just buy the base game and play it before deciding to buy expansion packs. Sims 2 and 4 furniture don't have many matching pieces or the colors are always off. The create a style tool is something a lot of 3 fans still miss.

They didn't make the Sims 4 open world because it was really laggy in the Sims 3, especially Isla Paradiso. Isla Paradiso is pretty much impossible to live in.

TS3 is a wonderful game! And the expansions gave so much content in the end that you can get lost. If that's the game you want to explore first, then all the power to you. All of The Sims games have been good on their own, in my opinion, every one with pros and cons.
