If their account is public, you don't hv to follow and you can see it all without them knowing. If it's private, you will have to send a request. Now, one other cheeky way of doing it and not be caught, would be to open an email address and Instagram account in a totally different name, and follow this someone.
If you can't follow people, it might be because you've reached the maximum threshold for your account. You can't follow more than 7500 on one Instagram account. If you've reached that quota, you might want to unfollow some people before following new people.
To get more followers on Instagram do the following things:
- Promote your dedicated hashtag on your other social profiles, on your website, and your email blast.
- Get creative with your hashtags.
- Watch topically relevant and trending hashtags.
- Use your bio link to drive traffic to your newest or most popular content.
Who blocked you on Instagram?
- Open the Instagram App and click the Search Button.
- Search for the culprit's username.
- Go to a mutual friend's Instagram.
- Go through their posts, likes, comments, and followers to see if the suspect's username appears.
- If the user's name appears, click on it.
Once you make your account private, people will have to send you a follow request to see your posts, your followers list or your following list. Follow requests appear in Activity, where you can approve or ignore them.
Follow Your Customers (Sometimes)
But you should still be conservative about how many of your customers you follow. If their content ties in closely to your brand and what you post, then it can be rewarding. But if they post a lot of content that is unrelated or inappropriate, you don't need to follow them back. Most of the times it's because of hashtags you use. In instagram, random people search for the pictures by the hashtags. Also, when you follow certain type of pages, then people related to that page (admins or other people dealing in same matter)also follow you just to increase their followers.
Yes, you can send a message to anyone when you use Instagram Direct. If you send a message to someone who doesn't follow you, it'll appear as a request in their inbox. If someone allows your message request, your future messages will go directly to their inbox.
Unfortunately, Instagram does not have the option to completely block inappropriate follow requests, and in fact, as one savvy mom noted, if you do end up blocking the account, their image stays in your “blocked” list. It's like you just can't escape.
What happens if I follow someone on Instagram? If their account is set to public, you will be automatically allowed to follow their account, and they will receive a notification to say that you have followed them.
Blocking people on Instagram means they won't be able to find your profile, posts, or story on the app. If people you block mention you on Instagram, it won't appear in your activity. After you block someone, their likes or comments stay on photos and videos. You can go back and delete them if you want.
If you accidentally deny a follow request, you can ask the person to request to follow you again. First log in to “Instagram” and click your profile. Next, click “Edit Profile.”Then, click on “Privacy and Security” and you should be able to scroll down.
Click the name of the person you friend requested. Look at the gray button next to the person's name. If the button reads "Friend Request Sent," the person has not yet accepted or declined your friend request. If the button reads "+1 Add Friend," the person denied your friendship request.
Instagram doesn't allow that so by the app you'll never know the exact date when someone followed you. Notification emails are one way to find if you've switched them on. Another trick that you can try is to go on IG messages and see how old the conversation is, you can roughly figure out the time with it.
