So, in summary, the Rift S can be comfortable for long term play, but you very well may need to sacrifice some visual quality to achieve that comfort. The Rift S uses an all new 'inside-out' tracking system which doesn't require any external sensors, bringing a bunch of convenience benefits.
Rift S can be had for $360 right now or less, which is a great deal. It's not a bad headset. Rift S has crappy audio, but it's sort of nice having it hidden away. Still, you'll have to plug something in for serious gameplay, and games like beat saber.
Price. Both headsets are a few hundred dollars less expensive than they were when they launched. The Rift is $399, down from $599, while the Vive is $499, down from $799. Since both now feature motion controls and whole-room VR in the box, the Oculus Rift is the better value.
No, that would require external sensors which S currently does not support. You can still use the kinect for full body tracking as the kinect is the sensor in that case, its a case of merging tracking solutions. Your other options are nolo or vive trackers (+base stations). You'll be doing this through steamvr.
The short answer is that VR is worth it. With some of the best games this generation, innovative controls, and a well-supported ecosystem of VR development, 2021 is a great year to enter the virtual world. Demand is strong and only getting stronger, with 90% of Oculus Quest users being new to VR.

No the other way around if I'm reading you right: you can use Vive lighthouses and wands (and Valve lighthouses and knuckles) with rift CV1, rift S, and even Quest with the right software.
Quest 2 is on the horizon, and with its October 13th release date inching ever closer, you might want to know what new games we're looking forward to playing on the company's next standalone headset.
It was released on May 21, 2019 as a mid-point between portable, affordable VR, and high-end PC VR.
Will the oculus quest link graphics improve or should I just get the rift S ? You can already increase the quality of the streamed video significantly by tweaking settings in Oculus Debug Tool if you have the hardware to match. Expect it to get better. But Rift S will still offer a superior visual experience.
Also don't worry that your rendering the game at lower resolution because the quest is already rendering at a higher resolution then native using link , so all your doing is putting it closer to native without compromising the quality and gaining 15% or more in performance and even less latency!!!
Oculus Link also works with SteamVR, so make sure to download Steam and install SteamVR if you want to play any of that content.
