1 Answer. It was actually a glitch. IIRC, various NPCs in-game state that Ghost is supereffective against Psychic, but apparently, the programmers accidentally set Psychic to be immune to ghost.

Dark is bad. It has bad coverage and weaknesses to Bug and Fighting; which are both common types in competitive battling. Psychic is amazing for offense and the fact that they usually have wide move pools but they have bad defensive typing.

Dusknoir uses physical Attacks, Gengar uses Special Attacks. Gengar has better Special Attack than Dusknoir's Attack and much better Speed.
