PWR is mainly gym-based, with less cardio and more weights. Those aforementioned instagrammers left BBG to create programs that are much more in line with PWR. I personally think that lifting is much easier after doing multiple rounds of BBG.
Yes & No. Yes, because the workouts truly made me stronger and more confident in my workout ability. I had started out with barely any strength to do a pushup, or the stamina to complete 20 jump lunges, and only three months later I was able to complete 20 pushups and 40 jump lunges with ease.
You can do BBG Beginner to kickstart your fitness journey! If you are starting right at the very beginning of your fitness journey, or you've previously tried BBG and found it too hard, then BBG Beginner can help you to build a base level of fitness and gain confidence that you CAN do the BBG programs.
After several weeks of BBG workouts, I lost nearly 10 pounds and was starting to see results. As embarrassing as it is to take photos of yourself (especially at the gym), taking progress shots helped me see how far I had come already. It was an easy way to document what I was doing, and I became my own fit-inspiration.
You certainly can combine other programs along with your main program! Simply head to the "Other Programs" section, this can be found by clicking 'on-demand' at the top of your workouts dashboard. Once you have done this, scroll to the bottom to locate the 'other programs' section.
This workout, from the Beginner weeks of High Intensity with Kayla Itsines (formerly BBG), is also a favourite of mine because it's so easy to do at home, even if you haven't got a lot of space! If you've never tried high-intensity training before, this workout is ready for you to try at home.

How BBG Works. The BBG uses a circuit style training method and groups together four different exercises per session. Each circuit suggests you complete a certain number of reps per exercise. The program emphasizes AMGRAPs (As Many Great Rounds as Possible) for seven minutes before moving to the next circuit.
Their valuation is based on the global success of the Adelaide couple's Sweat app, whose mix of tailored workouts and menu plans has been downloaded more than 30 million times, although its number of paid subscribers has never been revealed.
She is the creator of a series of fitness ebooks titled Bikini Body Guides, and a meal-planning and workout app, Sweat with Kayla. In 2016, Sweat with Kayla generated more revenue than any other fitness app. As of October 2016, Itsines had eight million followers on Facebook and 12.5 million on Instagram.
The 29-year-old personal trainer, along with ex-fiancé Tobi Pearce, pioneered the 12-week "Bikini Body Guide" (BBG) fitness program in 2014. BBG quickly garnered a cult following as Itsines began publishing before-and-after photos of her clients on her Instagram profile, which exceeds 12 million followers today.
They're ALL HIIT WorkoutsThey aren't all HIIT workouts, but it definitely feels like it. Kayla does schedule in some LISS (low-intensity steady state) cardio every other day, but it's up to you on what you plan to do. There are three HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts a week that are 28-minutes long.
Sweat is a subscription based application that will charge to your selected payment method, each billing cycle, on the same date you originally signed up. Regardless of the subscription type you choose, you will have full access to all available features and programs within the Sweat app.
