Let's get something straight right up front: OLED beats Nanocell when it comes to image quality. If you're a purist who wants the best of everything, get the OLED. Nanocell TVs also boast better-than-usual black performance thanks to what's called “Full Array Local Dimming” (FALD).
QLED comes out on top on paper, delivering a higher brightness, longer lifespan, larger screen sizes, and lower price tags. OLED, on the other hand, has a better viewing angle, deeper black levels, uses less power, and might be better for your health.
The LG C9 is available in 55, 65 and 77 inch. The LG CX does not differ from its predecessor in terms of picture quality. Due to the OLED construction it has an equally excellent picture and there is no real difference. In addition to 55, 65 and 77 inches, the CX is also available in a 48 inch version.
LG has previously said its OLED TVs can last 30,000 hours, or around 10 years with an average daily viewing of eight hours, without burn-ins.
In terms of picture quality, OLED TVs still beat LED TVs, even though the latter technology has seen many improvements of late. OLED is also lighter and thinner, uses less energy, offers the best viewing angle by far, and, though still a little more expensive, has come down in price considerably.
No it does not have a built in camera. No, this TV does not have a camera.
The popular LG C9 Class 4K Smart OLED TV can be mounted on walls.
LG's 2018 OLED TVs and Super UHD TVs will feature a new artificial intelligence (AI) that LG is calling AI ThinQ. AI ThinQ unlocks the ability to control the TV and more, simply by using your voice. If the name 'AI ThinQ' sounds familiar, that's because LG also has 'SmartThinQ' connected home appliances.
This year, LG's OLEDs and certain high-end LCD TVs will support HDMI 2.1, allowing them to display 4K content at 120Hz over HDMI.
In fact, no matter what number you see listed with a 4K TV, no 4K TV has a native panel refresh rate higher than 120Hz.
The LG C9 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED is one of the top TVs for the PS5 and Xbox Series as it supports HDMI 2.1, has extremely low input lag with game mode activated and features a pretty good (but inconsistent) peak HDR brightness.
In theory, though, HDMI 2.0 (effectively HDMI 2.0b since late 2016) can do 4K 120Hz. This mostly applies to PC, where cards like the GTX 2080 Ti can actually pull off 120 frames per second in certain games while running in 4K. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X won't allow 120Hz in 4K anyway.
What else do I need to remember? You should also ensure that your HDMI cables are high bandwidth enough to carry a 1080p/4K 120Hz signal. Any cable listed as HDMI 2.1 will be fine. And, of course, the cables that come with your new next-gen console.
The LG CX will automatically chroma subsample at 4k 120Hz, meaning you will get 4:2:2 instead of 4:4:4. Everything is fine at 4k 60Hz.
The LG OLED C9 is an excellent TV for watching TV shows during the day. It has good peak brightness and an impressive anti-reflective coating, so you shouldn't have any issues, even in a bright room. It also has wide viewing angles, which is great if you like to walk around with the TV on.
We recommend setting the Contrast to '90', Sharpness at '0', Color at '50', and Tint at '0'. To adjust the TV's luminosity, you should adjust the OLED Light setting depending on your specific viewing conditions.
Samsung says its entry-level 8K TV in 2020, the Q800TS, will be priced comparably to its premium 4Ks in 2019. LG's cheapest OLED TV, the 4K B9, got down as low as $1,800 during Black Friday, and as I mentioned above, there's no reason to expect that its 2020 successor won't cost even less.
Best OLED TV: LG CX OLEDThe best OLED TV we've tested is the LG CX OLED. It's one of two entry-level OLEDs in LG's 2020 lineup, and it offers an excellent picture quality that most people should be happy with. It's also really well-built with a sleek and modern design that fits well into any environment.
Yes, it needs a soundbar.
Burn-in is possible with OLED, but not likely with normal use. Most "burn-in" is actually image retention, which goes away after a few minutes. You'll almost certainly see image retention long before it becomes permanent burn-in.
C9 has not been out long enough for burn in to be raising its head. But it should be more resistant due to increased red pixel size. The 8 series has been out for quite a while now and appears quite resilient to screen burn.

Because the organic layers of an OLED are much thinner than the corresponding inorganic crystal layers of an LED, the conductive and emissive layers of an OLED can be multi-layered. Also, LEDs and LCDs require glass for support, and glass absorbs some light. OLEDs do not require glass.
