Best Answer: No, you do not need a PC to set up an Oculus Quest. Like the Oculus Go, you need a device with access to the Oculus mobile app.
In terms of the VR experience, the Quest 2 comes very close to the Rift S, but with a much higher resolution (1,832 by 1,920 vs. 1,280 by 1,440). Its Snapdragon 865 processor is powerful enough that you can run plenty of games on the headset itself, like Beat Saber and Superhot VR.
That's a significant saving over the price that the original entry-level Oculus Quest model opened sales at. It's certainly not cheap, but considering it's a contained experience that doesn't require a PC, console or even an additional screen in order to work with it, it represents great value.
Oculus Link is the official way of using the Quest as a Steam VR headset, and it requires a USB cable. It's great, although it's a bit laggier than a dedicated device, like a Rift S or Valve Index. Still, it's good enough to make the Quest feel like a PC headset when it's plugged in.
The 64GB variant of the Oculus Quest 2 supports all the same features and games as the version with larger storage. It has enough space for many users but will fill up if you're a hardcore gamer. Its lack of a microSD slot makes storage limitations a more significant issue.
