Civic is one of the first car offered by Honda (back in 1973) and has improved over generations of enegineering. The current civic is an engineering beauty which is not only fast, safe and stable, but also provides a good fuel economy. Good looks, price and an awesome resale value is a bonus. No doubt they are popular.
Honda-Tech Member. Re: WHATS THE MEANING OF FERIO. In Japan, the hatchback Civic is just called "Civic" while the sedan model was called the "Civic Ferio" during the fifth and sixth generation. The sixth-generation sedan was also sold as the Integra SJ.
The Civic coupé is still considered a compact car. The Civic currently falls between the Honda City and Honda Accord. The first generation Civic was introduced in July 1972 as a two-door model, followed by a three-door hatchback that September.

they're just a code name for the chassis or model of your car. they are terms commonly used in our society to refer to civics and many other cars. for example, most people refer to all 92 to 95 civics as eg and all 96 to 00 civics as ek. even though the model technically isn't eg or ek, people still call them that.
The Civic ESi is a front wheel drive hatchback road car with a front located engine, manufactured by Honda. The engine transfers its power through to the wheels by means of a 5 speed manual transmission.
Typically an EG is a 92-95 (or 5th Gen) and the EK is the 96-2000 (6th Gen).

The European-spec car received a ZC 130 PS (96 kW; 128 hp) engine and a 2+2 seating arrangement. Redesigned in 1988 and produced to 1991, the CRX was popular for its performance, nimble handling, and good fuel economy.

An EF Civic has a b16a vtec, 1.6L vtec engine.
This was the sportiest US market Civic, only available as a hatchback. The engine fitted was the D16A6 16-valve SOHC with 4-point injection and output of 108 hp (81 kW). It weighed in at 2,286 lb (1,037 kg), achieving a factory 0–60 mph of 8.1 seconds; and a quarter-mile time of 16.2 at 82 mph (132 km/h).
The Honda Civic looks sporty but its performance is even sportier. I owned a 2011 Civic 1.8S AT. The claimed top speed was 201kmph but when i hit the full throttle the number turned out to be different. It did 0–100kmph in 7.8 sec and its top speed was 212kmph.

2020 Civic trim levels are as follows: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring (Sport Touring for the hatchback). The Si gets a 205-hp version of the same engine, while the Type R has a unique 2.0-liter VTEC turbo packing 306 horses.
