Emulators work on PC's just fine and play discs. But some games work a lot better on an actual PS2 and if you're looking to play discs you may have and the PS5 won't play them then I'd say yes they are relatively cheap. Is it worth it buying a PS2 in 2019? Buy a PS2 fat model, buy a SATA hard drive adapter, put a 1 TB hard drive in there, load it up with games and you're good to go. It's always worth if you like and cherish the games. The PS2 has a great and big library to choose from.
