I myself have gone for long ride several time. You can ride it non stop upto 60 Kms. But keeping in mind its engine you should give it some rest ( 15 mins atleast)after 60 km ride. Scooters are not technically built for long drive but if can put comfort and control aside you can do it with any bike.
It might last 10,000 miles. if the same engine with old fashioned 10w-40 mineral oil starts from cold twice a day and goes 10 miles each time at more or less full speed. It will last 20,000 miles…. Same number of cold starts, but twice the 'hot' mileage…

They are extremly popular because they are cheap, extremly reliable when treated right and very cheap to repair if they do break. These scooters are ideal especially when you consider that they can go up to 50 to 60 mph – or even 70 mph depending on the rider's weight and the exact type of scooter. In terms of gas mileage, you should be able to get 70 miles out of each gallon.
They usually have only 5 or 6000 miles and are leaky, crusty and run poorly. In most of them, a carb cleanup/rebuild, spark plug and battery connectors cleaned up and they ran but burned oil. I think if owners actually tuned them up each year, they'd get 20k or 30k miles before being pretty well shot.

Lambrettas can be very reliable but only if you look after them and don't thrash em about, whilst the standard P200 Vespa is a more comfortable ride and you whack that throttle open all day without it heat seizing. Bloody site cheaper to buy too.

I would, but sometimes I'm in the minority. Honda's V-Matic belt drive provides the Ruckus with twist-n-go, shiftless propulsion, so there's no automatic transmission, and it comes geared for 40-45 mph and 114 mpg with a small fuel capacity of just 1.3 Gallons.
Our Verdict. For occasional long rides, a scooter may not be a bad choice as modern scooters come with enough power and potential for the same. However, if you are someone who prefers long rides very often, it will be better for you to buy at least a 150 cc or a 180 cc bike.
The useful engine life of a 50cc , air cooled scooter before it requires a rebuild is probably not much more than 10k miles. A water cooled scooter like the Vespa GTS/ or 300 series should last 50,000 miles or more if maintained properly.

How to calculate your bike's mileage accurately?
- Ask the fuel pump attendant to set the fuel filler setting to the slowest.
- Set the trip meter to 0, before you leave the petrol pump.
- Ride the motorcycle or scooter for approximately 100kms.
- Go to the petrol pump.
- Calculate mileage by dividing 100kms with the number of litres.
