Many coaches and players in the soccercommunity fear soccer players taking part in traditionalheavy resistance training. The threat is real, especially ifsoccer players are simply given to do what the(American) football team does. But the soccerplayers' fear of heavy lifting is partiallyunfounded.
Curfews in the NFL are a reality. Homegames typically have no curfew because playersare allowed to sleep in the comfort of their own homes, andknocking on a bedroom door of a home, as they do in a hotel,may perhaps be a tad too invasive.
At the age of 16, players are eligible to signprofessional contracts. Five out of six signed players are releasedbefore the age of 21. That is, even after signingprofessional contracts, less than 17% of players actuallybecome successful playing football.
