The three (3) hour examination for PNP entrance exam is consisting of objective-type / multiple choice items covers the four subject areas: General Information – includes: Philippine Constitution and History; PNP Law and History; Criminal Justice System; Current Events; and Social Awareness and Value Judgment.

Professional Eligibility,: The Professional Eligibility, on the other hand, qualifies you not only for first level positions but also for second level positions such as professional, technical, and scientific positions which require four years of college education.
PNPE Examination is open to all Filipino citizens who are not more than 30 years old and bachelor's degree holder. Patrolmen/Patrolwomen whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility are also required to take said entrance exam.
