There are two buttons to fasten my sleeves, those that would make the cuff tighter and those that would allow them to be looser. That means you should always use the button that makes the cuff smaller, unless you're wearing a very large watch or have exceptionally big wrists.
Double cuffs, also known as French cuffs, are twice as long as regular cuffs and are then folded back on themselves and closed with cufflinks - great for those who like a more formal look.
Our most formal cuff, the French cuff is twice as long as regular cuffs and is folded back on itself and closed with cuff links. French cuffs have a very pronounced look and we usually pair them with our more debonair collar styles or formal shirts.
Don't worry about the lack of formal neckwear when wearing cufflinks. French cuffs look great under a jacket, whether you're wearing a tie or not. In my opinion, wearing cufflinks without a tie is a subtle way to show your style without looking too formal. Don't wear sport or hobby themed cufflinks.
That said, the rules almost always take a more conservative stance on any given issue. Additionally, some rules are better to break than others. However, one of them that should never be broken is Rule 13 (Thou shall not wear a French cuff (double cuff) shirt without a jacket).
French cuffs are elements of a dressy shirt. If you want to tone it down a touch, keep the cuff links casual and subtle, meaning no bling. (We suggest these sports-inspired ones.) And you'll want to avoid jeans with lots of distressing; cuff links are refined, so your jeans should be, too.
The French Cuff is inherently more formal than barrel cuffs on a dress shirt, so rolling them up to dress the shirt down may be counter to the intent. So if you must roll up your French cuffed shirt, make sure keep those dapper cuff links in a safe place and go with The Classic Roll.
As a general rule, you should wear French cuffs anytime you feel like sprucing up an outfit. By all means, wear French cuffs under a suit jacket, but keep in mind you can also wear them under a sweater or a blazer as long as there is enough wrist space to accommodate the extra fabric from the cuffs.
A double cuff is formal because it folds over, hiding the seam at its end. As with black tie trousers, hiding a seam makes things smoother, and is therefore seen as more formal. When wearing French-cuff shirts, how much cuff should I be showing? About a half inch of “linen“ should show beyond the sleeve of the jacket when the arm is at one's side. When no shirt shows at the wrist, the arms tend to look long and ape-like, a problem George W.
Cufflinks and Studs are generally worn with most formal shirts and may also be referred to as “formal jewelryâ€. They're a great way to add personal style to any tuxedo, suit, or dress shirt.
A single cuff wraps around the wrist, usually with a single button for fastening. There are also other cuff types out there that go with two or even three buttons used at the closure. A single cuff is the most common these days. It is functional, versatile and easy to wear.
Cufflinks are needed when wearing a shirt that has French cuffs, a shirt cuff that is folded back before fastening, creating a double-layered cuff. This style of shirt should always be paired with a tuxedo, but can also be worn with a suit.

Place a small dot of glue on the inside of the cufflink blank, evenly distribute it with a paint brush and then carefully press your glass tile into the cufflink blank. If glue squeezes out around your tile, it's no problem – wipe it off. The glue will dry 100% clear.

- Spread the tines on an old fork, such as a serving fork.
- Thread the needle with the silk cord, with the needle in the center of a 3 foot length.
