Talk to Maurice to kick off the event's main questline, which will task you with finding a Ghost. Thankfully, there are several ways to go about this, but the easiest we found was to head to Eden-6, to Jakob's Estate. Here you can reach the spawn location of El Dragon Jr, one of the game's many rare spawns.

That would be Revenge of the Cartels, which Gearbox has now indeed confirmed is returning June 24, after the end of a six week event leading up to then called “True Trials.”
Revenge of the Cartels is a free seasonal event for Borderlands 3 available between April 23, 2020 and June 4, 2020.
Joey will spawn in with two henchmen, and you will see two lines of energy linking him to each henchman. You won't be able to kill Joey until you snap the lines, so take out the henchmen first, and ignore Joey until both of them are dead. When you kill them both, you can freely work Joey over and kill him.
There are 18 Challenges in all that are only available while Revenge of the Cartels is live, and you can track your progress via the event tab in your ECHO Device menu.
If you go into the game quickly enough from the main menu (before it loads the fixes), your game will be offline. If this is the case, it will ask you to go to the main menu to load updates when you pop up the game menu. Don't know if that's why it's doing that in your game, but it's one possibility.
How to Turn Off the Revenge of the Cartels Seasonal Event
- Enter the main menu where you can enter the game.
- Scroll down to “Disable Revenge of the Cartels” and disable it.
Cartel Thugs can be found across the galaxy, summoned when an informant for the cartel is killed. Cartel Thugs can appear as any type of enemy unit and as members of the Children of the Vault, Maliwan, Frostbiters, or Looters, even Loaders and the Bonded have thugs among their ranks.
How to defeat Captain Haunt in Borderlands 3
- Dodge these green bullets. Once the Captain loses his shield, he will begin to change his tactics.
- Kill the ghosts or they'll give you the terror debuff.
- Captain Haunt is hard to miss.
- Destroy the Shielding Phylactery to end Captain Haunt's invincibility.
The Heck Hole is a location in Heck in Borderlands 3, it is here that fights against the haunted hordes and Captain Haunt takes place. The Heck hole can only be accessed by means of a portal activated by Maurice.
There are at least four Bloody Harvest Legendary weapons and items to find from Loot Ghosts, which are:
- Fearmonger Shotgun.
- Stalker Sniper Rifle.
- Ghast Call Grenade.
- Scream of Terror Shield.
Borderlands 3: Bloody Harvest challengesTo get started, you'll need to complete the Descent into Heck quest by finding and killing 25 ghosts. After that, you'll need to defeat Captain Haunt. He's a spooky skeleton version of Captain Traunt, and you'll need to farm him for one of these challenges.
Ghosts can haunt both human enemies and the 'friendly' wildlife of the Borderlands solar system. These ghosts give the enemies they're haunting a gold glow and appear as a golden skull. This skull will begin to fly away from you, so make sure you chase it down, because it will drop some great loot.
The indication of a ghost is shown by a character glowing green. Whenever you see an enemy glowing this way, shoot at them, and when they die, a skull errupts from their dead corpse. You now need to kill the glowing ghost.
To get the seasonal quest started, head to your Sanctuary III ship and find Maurice's location in Borderlands 3. When you speak to them, they'll offer you the quest which will requires you to search the galaxy for ghosts, collect their Hecktoplasm, and bring the spooky substance back.
Hecktoplasm is dropped from haunted enemies' skulls. The skulls are spawned when the haunted enemies are eliminated. The gold skulls can also drop all the Bloody Harvest exclusive loot, so this is also a great way to farm them.
