Weighted grade calculationThe weighted grade is equal to the sum of the product of the weights (w) in percent (%) times the grade (g): Weighted grade = w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g3+

The basic formula for calculating GPA is to divide the total points earned in a program by the total number of credits attempted. The resulting figure is the GPA for that program.
To find the percentage of the marks, divide the marks obtained in the examination with the maximum marks and multiply the result with 100. Example 1: If 1156 is the total score obtained in the examination out of 1200 marks, then divide 1156 by 1200, and then multiply it by 100.
How do I calculate my grade average?
- Multiply each grade by the credits or weight attached to it.
- Add all of the weighted grades (or just the grades if there is no weighting) together.
- Divide the sum by the number of grades you added together.
- Check your result with the college GPA calculator.
If w = 0,1 , then your grade will be 81. It depends upon how many total points are available and what the zero was out of possible points. If you have a 90/100 and a 0/100, that gives you a 45%, which is failing.
The term 'average' refers to the 'middle' or 'central' point. When used in mathematics, the term refers to a number that is a typical representation of a group of numbers (or data set). Add the numbers together and divide by the number of numbers. (The sum of values divided by the number of values).

Your final is worth:
| Letter Grade | GPA | Percentage |
|---|
| B- | 2.7 | 80-82% |
| C+ | 2.3 | 77-79% |
| C | 2 | 73-76% |
| C- | 1.7 | 70-72% |
The grade percentage is calculated by dividing the earned points by the total points possible. The formula is: Points earned / Points Possible, then that percentage is compared to the given scale.
When you designate an item or a category as Extra Credit, those items are not added to the total "out of" value for points possible in the Gradebook. If students earn points for extra credit items, those points are added on top of the total grade.
When grades are weighted, it means your teacher has assigned a specific percentage of your overall grade to each grade category. For this example, suppose your test grades are worth 50 percent, your homework grades are worth 25 percent, and your classwork grades are worth 25 percent of your overall class grade.
20% for a final exam is fairly standard. Usually most students need to get a high B or A on a 20% final to get an A in the class, but the weighted average will tell you what you need to get if you know your grades for everything else.
A B+ letter grade is equivalent to a 3.3 GPA, or Grade Point Average, on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 87–89.
