Switch to the Device Settings tab, click Settings. If this option is not available, search for Touchpad settings using the search icon on the taskbar. Click Multi-Finger and adjust the Scroll option.
Turn off Scroll Lock
- If your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key, on your computer, click Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard.
- Click the On Screen Keyboard button to turn it on.
- When the on-screen keyboard appears on your screen, click the ScrLk button.
Using a keyboard only
Use the keyboard combination Ctrl + Tab to move to the TouchPad, ClickPad, Device Settings, or similar tab, and press Enter . Use your keyboard to navigate to the checkbox that allows you to enable or disable the touchpad. Press the spacebar to toggle to the off position.Touchpad gestures for Windows
- Select an item: Tap on the touchpad.
- Scroll: Place two fingers on the touchpad and slide horizontally or vertically.
- Zoom in or out: Place two fingers on the touchpad and pinch in or stretch out.
Enable two-finger scroll via Settings in Windows 10
- Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
- Step 2: In the Scroll and zoom section, select the Drag two fingers to scroll option to turn on the two-finger scroll feature.
Go to Apple --> System Preferences --> Accessibility. Choose "Mouse & Trackpad" from the left column, and click on the "Trackpad Options" button in the right window. Make sure that the box called "Scrolling" is checked.
To quickly access the TouchPad settings, you can put its shortcut icon in the taskbar. For that, go to Control Panel > Mouse. Go to the last tab, i.e. TouchPad or ClickPad. Here enable Static or Dynamic tray icon present under Tray Icon and click Ok to apply the changes.
Adjusting two-finger scrolling
- In Windows, search for touchpad .
- From the results list, click TouchPad settings.
- In the Touchpad window, click Additional settings.
- Click ClickPad Settings.
- Two-Finger Scrolling is located under MultiFinger Gestures.
- Click to highlight Two-Finger Scrolling.
Click the File tab. Click Options, and then click the Advanced category. Under Display options for this workbook, clear or select the Show horizontal scroll bar check box and Show vertical scroll bar check box to hide or display the scroll bars.
Shift + Space Bar: will scroll up one screen at a time. Up/Down Arrow keys: will scroll the page in smaller increments.
Here's how:
- Using your mouse or laptop track pad, move your cursor to the scroll bar.
- Then click and hold your mouse; you can now move the scroll bar up and down.
- Release the mouse button once you reach the place on your screen you would like to go.
If you always want the vertical scrollbar to appear:You should use overflow-y: scroll . This forces a scrollbar to appear for the vertical axis whether or not it is needed. If you can't actually scroll the context, it will appear as a"disabled" scrollbar.
Move your fingers between the top and bottom of your touchpad to scroll up and down, or move your fingers across the touchpad to scroll sideways. Be careful to space your fingers a bit apart. If your fingers are too close together, they just look like one big finger to your touchpad.
Turn off Scroll Lock
- Press the Scroll Lock key (Scroll Lock or ScrLk) on your keyboard. Done.
- Click Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard > Use the On-Screen Keyboard (or press the Windows logo key + CTRL + O).
- Click the ScrLk button.
- Right click the status bar to display or to hide the Scroll Lock status.
Here's how:
- On your keyboard, hold down the Fn key and press the touchpad key (or F7, F8, F9, F5, depending on the laptop brand you're using).
- Move your mouse and check if the mouse frozen on laptop issue has been fixed. If yes, then great! But if the problem persists, move on to Fix 3, below.
Press the Windows key , type touchpad, and select the Touchpad settings option in the search results. Or, press Windows key + I to open Settings, then click Devices, Touchpad. In the Touchpad window, scroll down to the Reset your touchpad section and click the Reset button. Test the touchpad to see if it works.
Type mouse into the Windows Search bar and go to Mouse Settings. Here, click “Additional mouse options,†then in the new window, go to “Device Settings,†“Touchpad,†or whichever tab is at the far right of the window. Find your touchpad in the list, select it, then click “Enable.â€
To use the arrow keys to move between cells, you must turn SCROLL LOCK off. To do that, press the Scroll Lock key (labeled as ScrLk) on your keyboard. To turn off SCROLL LOCK, click the ScrLk key, and then close the On-Screen Keyboard.
