Go to Mail settings
- In a web browser, sign in to Outlook Web App using the URL provided by the person who manages email for your organization. Enter your user name and password, and then select Sign in.
- At the top of the page, select Settings. > Options.
- In the Options pane, select Settings.
Turn on automatic forwarding in Outlook on the web
- At the top of the page, select Settings. > View all Outlook settings.
- Select Mail > Forwarding.
- Do one of the following: To turn on forwarding, select Start forwarding, enter the forwarding email address and select Save.
How to check your Office 365 tenant for auto-forward rules
- Step 1 Logon to Office 365 using Powershell.
- Step 2 Export the mailbox(es) that have either redirect or forwarding.
- Step 3 Investigate which rules are in use.
- Step 4 Remove the inbox rule from a specific mailbox.
- Step 5 Remove all the available inbox rules from all mailboxes (if you prefer)
As the admin of an Office 365 organization, you might have company requirements to set up email forwarding for a user's mailbox. Email forwarding lets you forward email messages sent to a user's mailbox to another user's mailbox inside or outside of your organization.
How to Prevent Emails Being Forwarded in Outlook
- Create a new message.
- Click the Encrypt button, next to the Attach button.
- In the dropdown menu, click Encrypt and prevent forwarding.
- If you change your mind before sending the email, click Remove encryption.
Forward emails that are sent to a shared mailbox
- In the Office 365 admin center, choose the shared mailbox you want to edit.
- Choose Email forwarding > Edit.
- Set the toggle to On and enter a forwarding email address. You can enter only ONE email address.
- Choose Save.
It's not only not possible to prevent email from being forwarded, it's also not possible to prevent that forward from being modified, forged or defaced.
Disable Forward Meeting for Office 365 Pro Plus
- In the Outlook, create a meeting request.
- Switch to the Meeting tab.
- Click the Response Option button.
- Click the Allow Forwarding from the menu on the drop-down to turn it off.

Turn on automatic forwarding
You can only forward messages for a single Gmail address, and not an email group or alias. Click Settings. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.Forwarding email addresses allow you to automatically direct incoming email messages to another email address. There is no inbox for a forwarding email address, and nothing is stored. It redirects any email messages sent to your forwarding email address to the other email address you specified.
How to forward emails professionally
- When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message (at the top).
- You MUST click the “Forward” button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message.
Gmail has built-in email forwarding (to a single email address), but here is a very simple trick to forward to multiple addresses. In Gmail, go into your Settings, click the Filters tab and select Create a new filter.
First login to gmail then select “Settings” from the upper right corner. The settings screen will appear. Select “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” from the settings tabs. The forwarding and POP/IMAP settings tab will appear.
How to Delay or Schedule Sending Mail in Office 365
- In the message, click the Options tab.
- In the More Options group, click Delay Delivery.
- Under Delivery options, check the box for Do not deliver before, and select a date and time.
- After you click Send, the message remains in the Outbox folder until the delivery time.
Not Forward: Recipients can read this message, but can not forward, print or copy the content. The owner of the conversation has full permission to your message and all the answers it. Confidential: The information recorded content is intended only to internal users. You can change but you can not copy and print.
Protected messages allows the sender to set specific permissions on a message, such as Do Not Forward or Do Not Print. If you receive a protected email message sent to your Office 365 account in Outlook 2016 or Outlook on the web, the message should open like any other message.
A shared mailbox in office 365 is: Free and do not require a license, but every user that accesses the Shared Mailbox must be assigned an Office 365 license. Cannot be accessed by users with Exchange Online Kiosk license. A Shared mailbox doesn't have a username and password and users cannot log into it directly.
The distribution groups doesn't have a mailbox. It is kind of a middle man to deliver emails to a group of people. Hence, emails will end up in individual mailboxes. If you want a single mailbox scenario, create a shared mailbox and give access to the required people and forward the email to the shared mailbox.
Email forwarding generically refers to the operation of re-sending an email message delivered to one email address to a possibly different email address(es). Email forwarding can also redirect mail going to a certain address and send it to one or more other addresses.
Right-click on the mailbox you want to forward, then click “Properties” followed by the “Mail Flow Settings” tab. Click “Delivery Options” and “Properties.” Check the “Forward to” box and click the “Browse” button.
