Identify yourself, the job you're interested in, that you've applied through the proper channels, and that you're just dropping off an extra copy of your resume and cover letter. Thank the person for their time, and say you hope you'll be considered for the job.
One more thing: Should you feel vitally compelled to drop off a resume at that company, just leave it with the front desk. Don't ask for the recruiter to come out and meet you; they'll get the resume anyway – the receptionist will give it to them. And dress professionally.
The best time to send your resume is early morning or after 9 p.m. This ensures that the resume is seen by employers when they first check their emails. Sending it really early in the morning (before 9 a.m.) could be effective as it portrays determination.
The analysis found that the best time to apply for a job was between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Doing so could make you five times more likely to score an interview.
On its face, walking into a company and asking about a job is not rude. But the reaction from the company will be the same reaction as if you did do something rude. The thing that you have to remember is that technology has made things better and worse in hiring. An office needs someone to file all of their invoices.
Dress pants, nice shirt, and a tie would be best. Although you can settle for a pair of khaki's with a nice sweater, or button up shirt. Don't wear jeans, hoodies, etc. You may not meet the manager right away, but in the case you do you don't want them to get a bad impression of you.
Most of the time, you can carry a binder to hold your resume copies, some paper, and a pencil. This is highly recommended if you were instructed to dress casually; carrying a briefcase might make you appear overdressed. In more professional interviews, men and women are encouraged to carry briefcases.
The simple rule is if you're looking for a job where you're dealing directly with a customer offering assistance — you should apply in person. If you're looking for a job where everyone has a computer or at the least is expected to check e-mail — it is okay to stick to all online activity.
After all the person you hand the resume to is probably not going to be the person who needs to read it. Also an envelope will keep is less crushed and clean if it has to wait a while to be read. If no manager is available, then you can put it in an envelope (quality envelope with clear information on it).
Remember that if you do make your resume private, it won't be visible to employers. Unless you don't want anyone to know you're searching for a job, we suggest making it public so hiring managers could reach out to you. Also remember that your information (address, email and phone) are not shared publicly.
Send a request for removal to GooglePlease note that once your CV was indexed it will take some time before Google unindex it therefore we suggest you send a removal request to Google. If you don't, your CV will be unindexed the next time Google will crawl it (which you don't really know when it will happen).
