If you need to give your friend access to your WiFi you can usually find it by going into your network icon in the systems tray, right clicking on the WiFi you're connected to going to properties and then the security tab in the new window, check show password and you'll see your password.
Right-click the folder or drive you want to share. Click Properties. From the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing. Click Share this folder.
Using Different Credentials to Access Shared Folders in Windows 7
- Click the Windows Orb button located at the bottom left.
- Type cmd at the Search programs and files bar and hit the Enter key.
- Type net use * /delete /yes and hit the Enter key. You will see that it says You have these remote connections, continuing will cancel the connections. The command completed successfully.
Resolution
- On your keyboard hit the WINDOWS KEY+R.
- Type Control Panel, then click OK.
- Select Network and Sharing Center.
- Select Change advanced sharing settings.
- At the bottom of the screen, select the All Networks.
- Select Turn off password protected sharing.
- Select Save Changes.
If you want to use a specific user account and password to connect to the shared network folder and that user has permissions to access it, then check the “Connect using different credentials” setting. When you are done configuring how you want to connect to the network drive, press “Finish”.
To open Windows Credentials Manager, type "manage windows credentials" and click the result. In Credentials Manager, click "Windows Credentials" to select it and then click "Add a Windows credential". Enter the name of the computer you want to access, enter the username and the password and click "OK".
Setting Permissions
- Access the Properties dialog box.
- Select the Security tab.
- Click Edit.
- In the Group or user name section, select the user(s) you wish to set permissions for.
- In the Permissions section, use the checkboxes to select the appropriate permission level.
- Click Apply.
- Click Okay.
How to Password Protect Network Folder?
- Add Folders to the Password Shared Folder Program.
- Now click "Permission Settings" Tab.
- Click "Options" Tab for More Password Sharing Folder Settings.
- Encrypt the Folder You Want to Share on Network.

You can view a list of mapped network drives and the full UNC path behind them from a command prompt.
- Hold down the Windows key + R, type cmd and click OK.
- In the command window type net use then press Enter.
- Make a note of the required path then type Exit then press Enter.
In File Explorer, click on This PC, located on the left-hand side of the window. Click on the Computer tab. In the Computer ribbon, click on the Map network drive button, and then select Map network drive from the drop-down list.
This can be done by either typing in “cmd” into the search area on the start menu, or by pressing the “Windows key” and the letter “R” to bring up the “Run” box on your screen and then type into this box “cmd”.

connect to the

Map a network drive
- Make sure you're connected to a VPN server.
- Turn on Network Discovery on your computer.
- Open the Windows 10 File Explorer (Win key + E).
- Go to This PC, select the Computer tab, and press Map Network Drive.
- Set Drive to a preferred drive letter that you will use to access the shared location.

First, click on your Start Menu and type cmd in the search box and press enter. A black and white window will open where you will type ipconfig /all and press enter. There is a space between the command ipconfig and the switch of /all. Your ip address will be the IPv4 address.
Accessing Shared Network Drives from Windows
- Double-click on the Computer icon.
- Click on Map network drive menu on top.
- Type in \su.win.stanford.edugse inside the Folder box.

- Wait until it connects to your shared network drives.
- You are now connected to all your shared network drives.
To access the server from itself, use or . To access the server from a separate computer on the same network, use where X.X is your server's local IP address. You can find the sever's local IP address (assuming it's Linux) by running hostname -I .
How-to Access your Network Drive from any Android Device
- Open the app tap on the 3 bars in the upper left of the screen and click on LAN.
- Select New (+)
- On this screen you will configure your Network Drive.
- Your drive is now accessible anytime you are on the district's WiFi (at any district school or even at the district office), you will have access to your network drive.
On the Home screen, click on the Network Settings button. Click on Tools>Admin. Change the Login Name to "admin" and click Apply.
Click the “Manage your credentials” option at the top left. Select the Windows Credentials type and you'll see the list of credentials you have saved for network share, remote desktop connection or mapped drive. Click one of the entries in the list and expand it, you can then click the Remove option to clear it.

- Enter computer name in the username field.
- Use username and password to log in to Windows 10.
- Add other PC's network credentials to Credentials Manager.
- Change Advanced sharing settings.
- Change your security policies.
- Change your services.
- Set your connection to Private.
- Open your start menu, in the search bar type: manage passwords.
- You will see an application called Manage Windows Credentials.
- Open up this application from there you can check/edit/delete your saved network credentials.
Simply follow these:
- Go to Control Panel.
- Go to Network & Sharing Center.
- Click on Advanced Settings.
- Go to All network Option.
- Then click on Turn Off Password Protected Sharing.
If you need to see the list of your credentials, you may go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager. You may click the dropdown arrow then click Show on Password field.
To delete a drive mapping toward a network location, right-click (or press-and-hold) on it and select Disconnect. To remove a drive mapping towards a network folder or FTP site, right-click (or press-and-hold) on it and select Delete. The deleted mapped drives then stop showing.
