A Wi-Fi network's SSID is the technical term for its network name. For example, if you see a sign telling you to join a network with an SSID of “Airport WiFiâ€, you just need to pull up the list of wireless networks nearby and join the “Airport WiFi†network.
Manually enter your new SSID to connect devices to your network. To do so on your Windows laptop, open the Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. Click “Set up a new connection or network.†Then click “Manually connect to a wireless network,†and enter your SSID and password.

Simply start scanning the airwaves with one of these tools. As soon as a packet containing the SSID is sent, you'll see the so-called hidden network name appear.
If you don't have the network name (SSID), you can use the BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier, the access point's MAC address), which looks something like 02:00:01:02:03:04 and can usually be found on the underside of the access point. You should also check the security settings for the wireless access point.
At the command prompt, type netsh wlan show wlanreport. This will generate a wireless network report that's saved as an HTML file, which you can open in your favorite web browser. The report shows all the Wi-Fi events from the last three days and groups them by Wi-Fi connection sessions.
Open the system menu. Click the WiFi icon and go to WiFi settings. Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select Connect to Hidden Network.

How to use the netstat command to view network connections
- Click the 'Start' button.

Start by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi, where you can find and click the Manage Known Networks link to see your list of saved wireless networks.
Power cycling the router and modem can fix internet connectivity issues and resolve problems with wireless connections. It is important to reboot both the modem and the wireless router. Check to see if the network is hidden. Go to Settings > Network and Internet.
Hidden Wireless NetworksIf you configure your wireless router to not broadcast the router Service Set Identifier, or SSID, your network becomes a hidden wireless network. This prevents wireless devices from detecting the network, but it does not prevent the router from broadcasting the actual wireless network signal.
In Network and Sharing Center, next to Connections, select your Wi-Fi network name. In Wi-Fi Status, select Wireless Properties. In Wireless Network Properties, select the Security tab, then select the Show characters check box. Your Wi-Fi network password is displayed in the Network security key box.
