On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display. Set both displays to the same resolution. Click Arrangement, then select Mirror Displays.
There are two ways to do this:
- Press the F3 key.
- Swipe up with three or four fingers (depending how you have gestures set up on your trackpad)
- Assign a Hot Corner to Mission Control via System Preferences > Mission Control.
Use any of these methods to switch from your current space to another space:
- Swipe left or right with three or four fingers on your Multi-Touch trackpad.
- Swipe left or right with two fingers on your Magic Mouse.
- Press Control–Right Arrow or Control–Left Arrow on your keyboard.
To add a virtual desktop, open up the new Task View pane by clicking the Task View button (two overlapping rectangles) on the taskbar, or by pressing the Windows Key + Tab. In the Task View pane, click New desktop to add a virtual desktop.
Choose Apple menu ? > System Preferences, then click Displays. Click the Arrangement tab. To change the position of a display, drag it to the desired position.
On your Mac, press and hold an app's icon in the Dock. You may need to first open the app to see its icon in the Dock. From the shortcut menu that appears, choose Options, then choose one of the following: All Desktops: The app opens in every space.

How do I connect to a Windows Virtual Desktop?
- Download the latest Windows Remote Desktop client.
- Subscribe to the feed. Open the Windows Desktop client. Select Subscribe on the main page. Sign in with your user account when prompted.

To open an Oculus Desktop window in VR:
- Open the Oculus app on your computer and put on your headset.
- Open Dash by selecting the Oculus button on your right Touch controller.
- Select Oculus Desktop from the right section of your Dash belt to open a Desktop window.

VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is a technology used to create a virtualized desktop environment on a remote server setup. VDI segments the servers into various virtual desktops which the users can access remotely through their devices.

Once you are connected to the network drive we can set up automatic connections upon logging into the Mac:
- Open System Preferences and click on “Users & Groups”
- Select your user name from the list and then click the “Login Items” tab.
- Drag & drop a mounted network drive into the login items list.
Make sure the computer or server is available
If the computer is using Bonjour or is a Windows (SMB/CIFS) server, make sure it's on the same local network or subnetwork as your Mac. If a Windows (SMB/CIFS) server has the Internet Connection Firewall turned on, you may not be able to connect to it.Follow these steps:
- Choose Go→Connect to Server from the Finder. Open the Connect to Server dialog.
- Click the Connect button. Enter a username and password if necessary.
- Select the desired shared drive to mount from the pop-up menu. Select the drive.
- Mount the shared drive according to the Windows version.
Windows Instructions
- Open the Start menu and click "Computer."
- Click the "Map network drive" button in the toolbar.
- Click the "Drive" menu and choose the letter to assign to the server.
- Fill in the Folder field with the IP address or hostname of the server you want to access.
On the Windows computer, open File Explorer, click Network, and locate the Mac you want to connect to. Double-click the Mac, then enter the account name and password for the user account. It may take a moment for the Windows computer to show that the Mac is on the network.
How to Use the Finder in OS X
- Click on the Finder icon at the bottom left of the screen (the left-most icon on the Dock).
- You can also click Go at the top left of the screen to open the Go Menu.
- Select Computer from the drop-down menu to view all files and folders.
You can find any Macs IP, or your IP address from the Mac System Preferences Network configuration screen:
- From the Apple menu pull down “System Preferences”
- Click on the “Network” preference pane.
- Your IP address will be visible to the right, as indicated in the screenshot below.
Command-K: Open the Connect to Server window. Command-L: Make an alias of the selected item. Command-N: Open a new Finder window.
If you can't connect Mac and Windows computers, make sure both computers are on the same network and the network connection is working. Here are some additional things to try. Make sure your Mac is connected to the network. To check your connection, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network.
