Public interest in the girls dried up, they moved away from their family and started their own lives in Montreal. Yvonne and Cécile went to nursing school together, and Marie and Annette roomed together in college. Three of them eventually married, though none of the marriages lasted.
The quintuplets left the family home upon turning 18 years old in 1952 and had little contact with their parents afterwards. Three went on to marry and have children: Marie had two daughters, Annette three sons, and Cécile five children, including one who died in infancy and twins Bruno and Bertrand.
In 1997, the McCaughey septuplets were born in Carlisle, Iowa. Multiple births of as many as eight babies have been born alive, the first set on record to the Chukwu family in Texas in 1998; one died and seven survived. In 2009, a second set, the Suleman octuplets, were born in Bellflower, California.
Steeped in research, The Quintland Sisters is a novel of love, heartache, resilience, and enduring sisterhood—a fictional, coming-of-age story bound up in one of the strangest true tales of the past century.
Sextuplets can be fraternal (multizygotic), identical (monozygotic) or a combination of both. It is possible for the split to occur more than once, producing monozygotic triplets or potentially even a set of monozygotic sextuplets, although none have been documented.
Quintuplets occur naturally in 1 in 55,000,000 births. The first quintuplets known to survive infancy were the identical female Canadian Dionne Quintuplets, born in 1934.
The survival of the Dionne quintuplets was considered miraculous. Born near the village of Corbeil in northern Ontario, the babies arrived nearly two months early and together weighed only 13 pounds, six ounces. The largest weighed 2-and-a-half pounds; the smallest weighed 1 pound, 8-and-a-half ounces.
The chances of having a set of identical quadruplets is one in 11 million to 15 million.
Ava and Olivia are identical twins; Hazel, Riley, and Parker are fraternal triplets.
The most common form of human multiple birth is twins (two babies), but cases of triplets (three), quadruplets (four), quintuplets (five), sextuplets (six), septuplets (seven), and octuplets (eight) have all been recorded with all siblings being born alive.
Ava and Olivia are identical twins. Ava is the oldest of the quints and one of the identical twins with Olivia. Olivia is 2nd baby born and the younger of the identical twins. She loves to laugh and make others around her laugh.

While the Busby quints on OutDaughtered all share the same birthday (April 8, 2015), as shared by TLC, two of the little girls are actually identical twins: Olivia Marie and Ava Lane! The twins definitely have a special bond, which is super sweet for viewers to see on OutDaughtered.

The Dionne Quints I have found to be my 6th cousins and more. They descend from the Langlois family as well as the Courchesne's. They also are from the Boisvert family. Celine is descended from the Langlois family.
Last January, Nadya Suleman, 33, gave birth to octuplets in California. All survived. The world's largest recorded multiple birth was nine babies in Sydney, Australia in 1971.
Identical siblings are much more rare: Only about one in 250 births is identical twins, according to a 2003 study in the Journal of Biosocial Science. Identical triplets are even less common, occurring about 20 to 30 times per 1 million births, the study found.
In order to accommodate, study, and display the quints, the government constructed the Dafoe nursery, aka Quintland, a hospital compound for the children and their caretakers directly opposite the Dionne homestead. At one side of the children's house, or main building, is the observation playground's structure.
