The names used for the three Hitchhiking Ghosts are Ezra, Gus, and Phineas.The Story: Many years ago, Master Gracey and Emily were engaged, but Madame Leota was also in love with Master Gracey. Leota believed that if Emily were “gone†Master Gracey would then fall in love with her and they could get married. Madame Leota was left to haunt the mansion after she presumably died of old age.
The Hitchhiking Ghosts are often referred to as "Gus" (Prisoner), "Ezra" (Skeleton), and "Phineas" (Traveler). These names are thought to have originated from and popularised by Cast Members who worked at the Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion, and further spread by fans.
In this story, Little Leota is identified as having been the illegitimate daughter of Madame Leota and George Gracey Jr., Gracey having been the master of Gracey Manor. Little Leota (the only name she is given in the story) was born in 1919 from an extra-marital affair that George had behind his wife Lillian's back.
The Gracey-designed trick relied on lighting and perfect timing, Spencer said. The head glowed under black lights, "disappearing" when the light turned off. A split-second later, light illuminated the hatbox, revealing the head.
There are 999 ghosts inside Disneyland's Haunted Mansion (and always room for one more), but some of them are breakout stars.

The Hatbox Ghost is a character from the Haunted Mansion that was removed from the attraction shortly after it opened. Despite this, he has appeared in various media related to the attraction. He officially returned to the attraction on May 9, 2015."This is the ancestral mansion of the Gracey family. Gracey Manor is the name of the mansion in the 2003 film.

The Ghost Host is the most prominent character in the Ghost Gallery storyline which was created by Disney World Haunted Mansion Cast-Members in order to give the ride more backstory. In this version of the story, the Ghost Host was once a mortal man named Master George Gracey Jr.
