AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 3.2GHz processor has four cores and can handle heavy loads of data. The processor works well with CoolCore technology to reduce heat and is recommended for gaming. The current retail price is about $200 or higher, depending upon where the processor is sold.
Intel CPUs are typically the favorite choice for performance and overclocking enthusiasts. Intel's top CPUs cost more than their AMD counterparts, especially once you add in a decent cooler, but they're often a bit faster in games. AMD meanwhile is able to trounce Intel when it comes to multithreaded applications.
The extra processor cores offered by Ryzen mean that certain capabilities will run much faster than the Intel chip. In reality, an expensive eight-core Intel Core i7 6900 CPU performs at a similar speed as the AMD Ryzen 1800X CPU, but the Ryzen costs less than half as much.
Lisa T. Su. has been the chief executive officer (CEO) and president of AMD since October 2014. Su, as of May 11, 2020, beneficially owns 2.6 million shares of AMD. This makes Su the firm's largest individual shareholder.

The Ryzen 5 5600X is great for gaming with some productivity on the side. If productivity is closer to your main course, you'll want a Ryzen 7 5800X. The 7-series part comes with eight cores and 16 threads while featuring the same IPC and memory improvements as the more affordable CPU.
Rising costs for PC hardware is largely down to supply chain issues. Spend wisely out there. The cost to build a PC with good performance continues to fall as we get more for our money. Looking at some limited stock listings and it's easy to find prices hike up 200%.
Intel's Core i7-9700K excels in two areas that AMD's Ryzen 7 2700X can't touch: raw gaming performance in games and overclocking potential. If you're after the absolute highest frame rates in your games, then the choice is clear: The i7-9700K is stronger in most games than a Ryzen 7 2700X.

Why It's Great for Gaming and Overclocking: At the top of the stack is the unlocked 10th Gen Intel Core i9-10900K, the world's fastest gaming processor1, featuring up to 10 cores, 20 threads and DDR4-2933 memory speeds.
Bob Swan, CEO of IntelIts dominant share in CPUs means the company has ground to lose. Both AMD and Intel CPUs use x86 technology, which makes them relatively interchangeable for most personal computers. In recent years, though, the companies have taken a different approach to business.
If you don't know, AMD uses 7nm fabrication for its processor now, like ARM does. AMD has better supply that Intel, at all grades. They decrease price of old chipsets by 50–60% which even brings AMD under high demand and more purchases as well as power. AMD has brilliant multicore performance, way better than Intel.
Building a PC?Here Are the CPUs We Recommend for Every Budget
- We recommend: AMD Athlon 200GE (Rs. 4,600) Lots of cheap but very old CPUs are available in the market and you should avoid them all.
- Upgrade pick: Intel Core i5-9400F (Rs. 12,600)
- Upgrade pick: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (Rs. 21,000)
Yes it is. In that you have 6 cores which will not be stressed by anything for a good many years, unless you are a streamer, or someone who just leaves every application running on their PC. When it actually becomes necessary for 8 cores, 8 core CPUs will be even cheaper than the Ryzen 3600 is now.
A clock speed of 3.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz is generally considered a good clock speed for gaming but it's more important to have good single-thread performance. This means that your CPU does a good job of understanding and completing single tasks. This is not to be confused with having a single-core processor.
The main things to consider when buying a CPU are the number of cores needed, what the computer will be used for, the type of software to be run, processor compatibility, and the speed of the CPU.
While Intel CPUs range from 4 to 18 cores, AMD now features up to 32! AMD takes the lead on the mid-range CPU bracket too, with the Ryzen 7 3700X smashing the Core i7-9700K in general. The Intel Core i7-9700K is by no means a slouch, and it is regarded as one of the best for gaming.
If you're going to be doing a lot of video editing and/or you're going to be streaming your gameplay on Twitch or YouTube, the Hyper-Threading abilities of an i7 could be worth it. For most PC gamers however, an i5 is the better choice.
The best Intel processors for 2020
- Intel Core i5-10600K. This chip provides the best bang for your buck, especially if you intend to overclock.
- Intel Core i3-10100. While it can't be overclocked, this chip is ideal for building the perfect entry-level gaming PC.
- Intel Core i7-10700K.
- Intel Core i9-10900K.
The Ryzen 5 3600X is the more affordable processor of the two. This CPU comes equipped with six cores and 12 threads, thanks to multi-threading. The base clock speed comes in at 3.8GHz with a boost of 4.4GHz. This is where the 8-core and 16-thread Ryzen 7 3700X processor comes in.
As of January 2021, the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor achieved the best average single-core performance with a score of 1,678 from the Geekbench benchmarking tests. Of the ten highest scoring processors for single-core performance, Intel accounted for five processors whilst AMDalso had five processors featured.
If you're a power user or gamer, a laptop with an H processor is probably your best choice. H Series processors have four to six cores, instead of the two or four you find on most other Intel CPUs. Thanks to hyper-threading, the Core i7 units can actually have 12 concurrent threads.
