Residents of Sherburne voted Tuesday to change their town's name to Killington, the name of the East Coast's premier ski resort and the area's largest employer. The name was changed from Killington to Sherburne in 1800 in honor of Col. Benjamin Sherburne, a land grantee.

Yes. It was apparently closed as part of a mitigation plan in connection with the construction of the South Ridge Quad. The quad requires removal of forested area that is currently habitat to the Bicknell's Thrush so Killington agreed to close upper Juggernaut and let it grow back in to restore Thrush habitat.
At the main Killington peak, Ovation, especially the lower third past the headwall, is another great steep along with Cascade, which has the steepest fall line from Killington peak to the K-1 base area. Downdraft, Flume, Escapade, Double Dipper and East Fall are the other steeps in the K-1/Canyon area.
Killington has the state's only 22-foot Superpipe, a pipe that ties Stratton's 500-foot length. It has hosted such events as the 2009 U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix.
Since there is no trail connecting Pico and Killington, you either have to drive or take a shuttle bus from the bottom of the Superstar trail. There is a work road that connects Pico to Killington's Ram's Head area, but it's not open to skiing.
