Google announced its newest, most affordable phones today — the Pixel 3A and 3A XL — and for the first time with Pixel phones, more carriers than just Verizon will sell them in stores. Google confirmed today that T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular will sell the phones, along with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 4 was a largely well-received device, owing mostly to impressive camera work. But the handset was hampered by bad battery life — something Google has since addressed in the 4a. The new budget handset also sports an excellent camera for its price point, making the Pixel 4's existence somewhat redundant.
The Google Pixel 4a 5G looks like a blown-up Pixel 4a, and it runs the same excellent version of Android with guaranteed updates through fall 2023. It also has a faster processor, bigger screen, longer battery life, and a dual-camera setup on the back.
The Pixel 3 was a great phone for its time, but its successor has been out since October of last year in the form of the Pixel 4. With it comes the newer, more powerful Snapdragon 855 processor, along with plenty of hardware upgrades including a 90Hz display and a secondary telephoto camera.
Simply put, the Pixel 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, a flagship-class Android processor (even if it is last year's model). The Pixel 3A has a Snapdragon 670 chipset — it's good, but it's not the best, and the Pixel 3 will be faster to launch apps, load webpages, and process more effect-laden pictures.

Your phone is water resistant but not waterproof. Your Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL phone has a water resistance rating of IPX8 under IEC standard 60529. The phone charger and other accessories are not water resistant. Do not charge the device when wet.
The Pixel 3 series looks similar to its predecessor, but it does in fact use different materials. The entire back is made of soft-touch glass using Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) phones work with 5G networks. Pixel phones work with all major carriers. But not all Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) phones work on all 5G networks. Check with your carrier to make sure your phone works on its 5G network.
While it's certainly possible that 5G can replace WiFi, there's a good chance that it won't. 5G has too many limitations – like capacity and coverage issues. Plus, 5G and WiFi are better as complements rather that competition.

The Pixel 4a 5G was initially slated to be the regular Pixel 5, with the Pixel 5 called the Pixel 5s. The Pixel 5 is now official, and Google is offering a single variant in its flagship series this year, breaking away from previous Pixel releases.
