Re: Can I play Sims while an expansion is downloading? @Ingridimus, in addition to what @Beckem87 stated, if you do play while downloading, when downloading is finished you will have to exit your game and restart it anyway in order for the newly downloaded materials to show up in your game.

First is to click on the "+ ADD A GAME" link in the top right hand side of your "My Game Library" page in Origin and selecting "Non-Origin Game". The other is by clicking on "Games" in the top menu bar and selecting "Add Non-Origin Game". Either of these options will open a Open Dialogue Window.
