Gregor falls into a rage and kills his stallion with one blow of his sword. He then attacks the unprepared Loras, and would have killed him if his brother Sandor had not intercepted him.
The Mountain attempted to kill The Hound the way he'd killed Oberyn Martell, by digging his fingers into The Hound's eyes and crushing his skull. Before he succeeded, The Hound realized there was no way to kill The Mountain without sacrificing himself.
The Mountain didn't die after being stabbed multiple times, and even being stabbed through the eye. That's because The Mountain was hardly man anymore. In season 4, he was poisoned in a trial by combat and left for dead. But ex-maester Qyburn performed an experiment to bring The Mountain back from certain death.
I'm talking about Qyburn, who died very violently and unceremoniously when the undead corpse of Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane slammed him into the wall and then tossed him to the ground.
In Season 5, The Mountain was reintroduced, this time as the Westerosi answer to Frankenstein's monster. While fans haven't seen The Mountain fight since he became a zombie-like servant, it's clear that he lost any hope of being anything other than a killing machine.

That's, of course, Sandor Clegane — the infamous Hound, whom we last saw back in season four, when he was Arya Stark's traveling companion. Back then, Sandor was badly injured in a brutal fight with Brienne of Tarth, and Arya apparently left him to die alone of his wounds. But Cleganes aren't easy to kill.
Oberyn inflicts several serious injuries on Clegane with his poisoned spear, but Gregor eventually kills Oberyn by crushing his skull, while admitting that he did rape Elia, killed her children and enjoyed it, before collapsing from his own injuries.
Qyburn experiments on Gregor before his impending death, and concludes that the poison was manticore venom thickened with sorcery to draw out the Mountain's dying instead of killing him instantly. Gregor's skull is to be sent to Sunspear in Dorne as recompense for the deaths of Elia and her children.
So the Mountain can be killed by any conventional means as long as the weapon penetrates his hard, full-body armor or places that are exposed. His full-body armor does not necessarily mean that only sheer power like the Hound can kill him.
Why The Mountain Was Invincible
The Mountain didn't die after being stabbed multiple times, and even being stabbed through the eye. That's because The Mountain was hardly man anymore. In season 4, he was poisoned in a trial by combat and left for dead. The brothers die after an intense fight in which the Hound cannot quite overpower his supernaturally enhanced brother. Instead, he sacrifices himself, charging at Gregor and sending them both to their deaths as they fall off a high wall and into the fiery ruins of King's Landing.
On the Kingsroad, Arya is sparring with a butcher's boy, Mycah, when Sansa's betrothed Prince Joffrey Baratheon attacks Mycah, prompting Arya's direwolf Nymeria to bite Joffrey. Arya shoos Nymeria away so she is not killed, but is furious when Sansa later refuses to support her version of events.
Jon Snow and Benjen Stark have nothing on the hype surrounding Sunday's major reveal: Sandor Clegane — best known as the Hound — is alive! HBO A man played by Ian McShane revealed that he had stumbled upon the nearly dead Sandor and helped keep him alive until he recovered entirely.
Gregor Clegane is known to have raped almost every girl or woman he set his eyes upon and most probably Cersei meant for him to rape Septa Unella too. Or it might be as Sherry Hildebrand put it. As Cersei's words, his position and the sound imply that The Mountain might have been torturing her.
Qyburn is very loyal if he gets what he wants. He does not plan to betray Cersei at all as she provides him with everything. He was a disgraced maester in the service of the Goat. Under Cersei, he rose to the rank of master of whisperers and her closest confidant.
“That old rumor you told me about — my little birds investigated,” he tells Cersei. "Tell me, was it a rumor or something more?" she replies. "More, Your Grace. So much more." Cue mischievous smirks.
Qyburn was expelled by the Maesters when they discovered his experiments; in order to improve his skill as a healer, he was dissecting living people. He is found when the Northerns take Harrenhall, and stays at the castle in the service of Lord Bolton.

During the early stages of the War of the Five Kings, Lady Shella Whent yields Harrenhal to Lord Tywin Lannister, who holds it with his own troops. I didn't notice at first, but Qyburn is first seen in Harrenhal, one of the few survivors after Gregor Clegane abandons the castle and kills the prisoners. He barely survived himself, being cut at the throat by Gregor's men.

Qyburn convinces Cersei to allow him to move Gregor to the black cells and experiment on him there, to gain knowledge of the magical poison that Oberyn used. She orders that Qyburn be given gold for his equipment and to buy new clothing.
What Happened To The Mountain In Season 4? The Mountain almost died after his fight to the death with Oberyn Martell. While The Mountain won that violent fight by literally crushing Oberyn's head with his bare hands, he had also been stabbed by Oberyn's spear, which was laced with manticore venom.
With Cersei's plan to use The Zombie Mountain Man Thing in a trial by combat now out the window, she needs another method to take back King's Landing from those annoying religious folk. The biggest theory for what the rumour may be points to wildfire, the explosive green liquid that destroys everything in its path.
To take back her kingdom and her son, Cersei would not be above destroying most of King's Landing. But the existence or production of wildfire isn't the only "rumor" Cersei could be investigating. Cersei wants Tyrion dead for many things, but most notably because she believes that Tyrion killed her son, Joffrey.
The “rumor” is most probably about the caches of wildfyre stored throughout King's landing by the Mad King. Cersei was seen to be fascinated by wildfyre and it would not be a huge surprise if she takes King's Landing down with herself much like the Mad King.
The rumour in question is probably that there is still a cache of Wildfire hidden in King's Landing, and that Cersei intends to burn the place to the ground. In case you've forgotten, Wildfire is the devastating liquid flame Tyrion reluctantly used to decimate Stannis's ships at the Battle of Blackwater.
In the story, Cersei Lannister, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, is the wife of King Robert Baratheon. Cersei's main character attributes are her lust for power and love for her children, whom she seeks to protect.
Qyburn is a former maester who has joined the Brave Companions. In the television adaptation Game of Thrones he is portrayed by Anton Lesser.
The "little birds" are essentially a network of spies who service Lord Varys, the former Master of Whisperers in King's Landing. Since his leave, some now serve Qyburn, the former Maester, who is now the Master of Whisperers in King's Landing (talk about some crazy turnover).
