You can create both anonymous and non-anonymous (identified) surveys on Google Forms based on your requirements. If you want to create an anonymous survey, you can leave the option “Collect email addresses” unchecked. And the end-user can take the survey without giving his/her email address.
You can close the form for submission by selecting the Responses tab, then clicking the Accepting Responses toggle. You can modify the message respondants will see if they try to access your form while it is closed. Click the toggle again to reopen your form.
Google Forms: Hide Responses
- At the top right, click Settings .
- Uncheck the box next to "See summary charts and text responses."
- Click SAVE.
There are two ways to do this: from your email confirmation or on the form submission confirmation page. If you check the Send me a copy of my responses box on the form, you'll receive an email confirmation showing your form responses.

The simplest way to start building a form is right from the Google Forms app. Go to docs.google.com/forms, then either choose a template or start a blank form. There's also a link to Google Forms in Docs, Sheets, and Slides: click File -> New -> Form to start a new blank form.

- Locate a quiz in your course content and click the action link (Chevron icon) of the quiz.
- Select Edit the Test Options.
- Scroll down to the “Test Availability” section, and select Set Timer box.
- Enter the amount of time students will have to complete the quiz.
Form Limiter Add On allows you to shut off a Google Form after a max number of responses, at a date and time, or when a spreadsheet cell equals a value.
By default, Google Forms will save your form responses in its Responses tab. Want email notifications? Click the 3 dot menu button on the right, and select Get email notifications for all new responses. That'll give you simple notification emails like the one below each time your form is filled out.
There isn't a way to unsubmit a Google Form itself. If your teacher created a Google Form as a quiz assignment in Google Classroom, unsubmitting would really mean that you are unsubmitting the housing for the quiz that shows it as completed or missing.
If you want to share a form through a chat or email message, you can get a link to the form.
- Open a form in Google Forms.
- In the top right, click Send.
- At the top of the window, click Link .
- To copy the link that appears, click Copy or press Ctrl + c (Windows) or ? + c (Mac) on your keyboard.
Select Record name if you want each form response to include the name and email address of the responder. Clear this option if you want to allow anonymous responses to your quiz or form. Select One response per person if you want to limit the responses to one per person.
Google Forms has a feature that you can turn on to prevent more than one response per Google Account (they say "person" in their help, but really it means per account). To use this feature: Edit the form. Click the Settings bar. Turn on the "Allow only one response per user" option.
Preventing Duplicate Answers on a Specific Field
- Log in and go to Forms.
- Click Edit next to the form.
- In the Form Builder, click the field to open its Field Settings.
- Select No Duplicates.
- Click Save Form.
To allow someone to enter multiple responses and collect their email addresses, you need to click on the "Collect email addresses" only. To do this, click on the Gear/settings icon and then make sure the "Collect email addresses" is checked and the "Limit to 1 response" is not checked.
Once you've enabled form tracking, you can review form activity and data in your Google Analytics account. Google Analytics can record anything from page views to button clicks. To find event tracking in your Google Analytics account, look at the left sidebar. Go to Behavior > Events > Overview.
