- Sign in to the Xbox app.
- Under the Friends & clubs section on the Home screen, type the gamertag in the Find people or clubs box and press Enter.
- Select Add friend to add the person's gamertag to your friends list.
- Select Friend or Favorite to choose what kind of information you share with that person.
- Select OK.
How to set up crossplay on the web
- If using the Xbox app, first open settings.
- Click manage privacy settings.
- If going through the web, go to and login.
- Click on your child's profile.
- Click Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety.
- Ensure the first box, relating to crossplay, is set to allow.
No it's not sadly. Devs said it's not possible.
If you have multiple guests who want to play, you just need to select Add guest again to create more guest accounts.
- Sign in to your console.
- Press the Xbox button ? to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Add or switch.
- Select Add guest.
- The guest account appears as HostName[1].
Local coop support is now available from the community coop map queue, too. Meanwhile, with the newly released Remote Play Together functionality, it's possible to play split-screen Portal 2 with a remote Player 2 who doesn't even own the game.
To use the feature, you will have to join the Steam beta. Once you have done this, you can simply enter a game, launch a local multiplayer session, and invite friends to your session by right-clicking on their name in your friend list and choosing “Remote Play Together”.

- Enable the console via Main Menu, then hit Options: Keyboard and Mouse: Enable Developer's Console OR add -console to the Portal 2 launch options.
- Press ~ to toggle the console.
- Run Portal 2 offline on both computers.
- On the HOST sv_lan 1 in the console.
- On the other type connect <host ip> in the console.
You can also type using two keyboards at once. This unfortunately means you cannot pay co-op with two sets of keyboard and mouse. The 360-emulator reads the controllers unique id, which is used to tell them apart. Keyboards and mice do not have this capability.
Per Steam its as easy as starting a game with the Remote Play Together ability on the phone, which Portal 2 is. Inviting my friend to Remote Play Together from the Steam overlay, which I did. They accepting my invite, which they did.

(Pocket-lint) - Steam's Remote Play Together feature has been around for a while now. Letting gamers play local multiplayer games over the web with friends for free. Now the service is being opened up to everyone, with up to four players playing together using Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS or Android devices.
Portal 2 features a separate two-player co-operative campaign, playable over the internet, and new gameplay features include physics-changing paint. "The game's two-player co-operative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters," it said.
Select a game and click "Play" to request access to that respective Library. Requesting access will send the game owner an email with a link to allow you to play games in their Library. Click the link in the email to authorize that computer and grant their Steam account access to your games.
- Launch your game.
- Make sure your friend is logged in to Steam from a supported device.
- Open your Steam Overlay in-game (Shift+Tab).
- From your friends list, right-click your friend and select 'Remote Play Together'.
- Once your friend accepts the invite, they will be in-game with you.
